Quick help please

You may be able to go back to the bank and get proof of payment that you can send to the agency and RotoRooter to get the matter resolved.

It might be a matter of bad accounting, or maybe the Roto Rooter guy didn't turn the payment in (but it's funny you never recieved any duns). Didpute it and send the collector a letter demanding validation of the alleged debt, and strict proof that you didn't pay.

OK, One more question....are they allowed to be charging me interest considering that they never sent me a bill...and if its not them charging interest, is the collection agency allowed to tack on interest?

I am not sure on this, but I don't think they can charge interest unless the contract you signed had stipulations for interest. But, I am not sure..I should research that since I am sure some of mine are charging interest...but I don't see how some company can just decide to charge interest...I mean they can try, but is it legal? Not sure. :(

I signed no contract...it was all verbal..and they never said anything about charging interest. They simply told my hubby over the phone that it was going to be 95 bucks to get the job done.. :roll:

If u paid them as u said u did, then NO they cannot charge interest!! There would be a 0 balance. But if it's not been paid then i'm pretty sure they can indeed charge interest on the unpaid balance!

Did you sign anything when they were done doing the work. How did you know how much to pay them..did they provide you a receipt?
