Like has been stated in previous posts. Even though a internet pdl maybe illegal no one is telling anyone to not pay them back. They are only saying payback the principal amount and the legal fees that are allowed in your state.
Others will be along to advise you, this is just my advice.

One big problem you will encounter is that they will debit your account over and over again. Even if you don't have the money in your account to cover the debits, you will get many, many NSF charges from your bank. Please read the information about closing your bank account and go from there.

Oh and another thing--many of the pdls include in their contract a voluntary wage assignment which you sign, even though it is mixed in with the terms of the contract. You do not need to overlook this--with this they "can" go to your employer and get your wages. You will need to revoke this by sending a letter to the pdls and also your employer.

goodluck-Welcome to the boards. Are you seeking help with regard to your payday loan? as ladybug stated, we are not condoning not paying them back, but we are helping to stand for our rights and not be bled dry by illegal fees.
What state are you in and who do you owe?

goodlucklady, you can't "get out of them". I don't understand where you even got that impression as you stated that you have been reading the posts on here. If you are reading the posts on here, you will notice that you "can't get out of them". We advise to pay these and fight the illegal aspects of them. Not to "ignore them". Never "ignore them". They will come back and get you in the end. That's what this forum is all about. If you "ignore them", you will end up with accounts in collections, accounts reported to the credit bureaus, harrassing telephone calls, debits from your bank account, etc. I do hope you did not get the impression that this is a place to come and read and try to find a "way out of them". There is no "way out of them". And, as goudah stated, it is not "easy". This is a long hard battle and it's for a reason. If you like, please post again and clarify your situation. You may need help with your pay day loans. This is what we are here for. To help you. Not to tell people how to "get out of them".

Yeah, I do not know one person that would say it is easy . . . . . Ignoring them will only make them worse. Especially if they are legal. Since we don't know your situation we don't know if your payday loans are legal or illegal. But depending on your state there is a good chance at least one or two of them are legal. Ignore them and your paycheck can get garnsihed, Not assigned, GARNISHED. Also, in some states intentionally bouncing a check for a payday loan can lead to legal trouble.

I don't know, maybe we make it look easy? But I really don't think that is the case . . . . I think the original poster needs to read through the site again.
And if you are really having a problem with pdl's, please post your situation. What is advised for one person may not be the right thing for another to do. Each person's situation is different, however similar they look.

I don't know, goudah. Seems to me that anyone who spends some time reading through all the threads and posts, they would realize that you have to go through hell and high water. I don't understand how anyone would get the impression from here that "it's easy" or you can "get out of them". Maybe not enough reading?

What I was thinking is maybe this poster only read one or two threads, ones where someone posts their problem, we post advice, and then the original poster never comes back, making it look like our advice did the trick and that was all they needed to know. But that is really stretching it . . . . . I think I was just trying to be nice and explore the possibility that we make it look easy. But after more consideration I don't think any logical person would get that impression from this site.

I know! This is something that has always bothered me . . . . I know this is a public site, and anyone could come here, see their state's payday laws, and use them to take out loans they know are illegal and then not pay them. That is fraud. Even though it's an illegal company, stealing is never right. And hey, you may get $200 out of it, but you are in for a whole lot of harassment and headaches for that money. Even if you change your phone number it will eventually catch up with you.

I sorry that you all attacked me by not coming back. I only have access to a computer when i'm in the library which takes time to get to. Sorry I didn't use the proper language for all of you. I was hoping to get help, not mean messages. I wish you all the best of luck - sorry to have looked for help from such a cliqy place - again, i misspelled that so i'm sure you will have something to say.

Goodluck, Please come back, and I am sure that we can give you the help that you need. I was one of the people who thought you just did not want to pay, and I am so sorry if I misread your intent. We are not a mean bunch here, but rather a community that is committed to getting out of debt.Yes we may be percieved as a bit "cliqy", but it is because we are all in a very similar situation. We come here to share , and it is that sharing that makes us all so close and protecting of one another. Yes, often times we are "attacked" because we are helping people with their payday loans. We often get "pay your bills!" and crap like that thrown on here.
Please accept our apologies for thinking you were one of the attackers. If you are willing to come back, you will see that we are willing to help you. It just seemed from your original post that you were looking for an easy way out, which is not what we offer. It takes work and time. But if you are willing to put in the work and time, we are willing to help.

goodlucklady, if you are at the library and reading this, I do hope that you will re-read through the thread. I did because of your last post. I, too, would probably be defensive. However, I read through it and saw members asking you to please state your situation so that they may help you. The conversation then went to how pdl's are not easy to get out of, which we were sharing our horror stories regarding collection agencies and credit reports, etc. Then, it in turn started a conversation regarding hoping that we don't give people who come here the impression that we tell people to how to "get out of them". It was posted again by a member that if indeed you really needed help with your situation to please post and we would help. No one was attacking you personally. We do get a lot of people who come and post once and never return. Which maybe was assumed in your case. However, please re-read through the thread. It wasn't an attack towards you at all. The members asked if you really wanted help, they would be glad to help. goodlucklady, I know it's not always easy to get to a computer. So if you are at the library and reading this, please post what your situation is and we can help you. We can tell you what the laws are and what avenues you can take to ward off illegal companies. We just need a little more information to be able to help.
