Okay. I admit it. I'm not the brightest person regarding computer "stuff". Now, at work, I have no problems (it's an awesome computer that is very up to date); however at home I have problems (ancient computer that's outdated). Here's my question/problem. When I click on the "view more emoticons" to use other emoticons, at work it pops up with no problem. Here at home, when I click on it, it says "pop up window blocked". Okay. I don't know what to do. What can I do to prevent it from blocking a pop up window? I'm using an OLD outdated computer, but my browser I'm using is microsoft internet explorer. Anyone with any insight as to how to stop it from blocking pop up's would be soooo appreciated! Thanks for anything! :D

I think that only happens with newer versions of windows pyb. My pc is also an antique and doesn't show that toolbar thingy ur talking about but my laptop does and so does my son's pc, they both have windows xp and vista... this one is still running 2000!
But hubby promised he'd buy a new one by the end of the year for us! :D Funny how i can think of things to compalin about him all the time but when i look at other men i have to be thankful that he's the wonderful man he is today. (even though he made many mistakes as i'm sure i did too)
OMG! WTH is wrong with me this morning?!?! I'm actually complimenting "that" man! ha ha

No. It says it down at the bottom (my version is OLD). It says "pop up window blocked" - kind of like "tough crap we're not going to open it. When I click on tools it says (told you this is very outdated) nothing about pop ups. It does give me internet options, reset web settings, etc. I'm talking OLD OUTDATED computer here! LOL!

Cannr, you are one step ahead of me...I can't even figure out how to use the emoticons! I only know how to use the colon, hyphen, bracket to get a smiley face!!!But I heard once that you can press the cont. key while trying to get the pop-up to come up and it will allow for that one pop-up to appear. It might work...

I am using stupid windows 2000 (I think). I told you it's outdated and old! I tried the internet options thing and under security it doesn't say anything about pop ups. However, everything that was under that was checked "enabled". Should I look somewhere else? And "antivirus". Ummm...none I don't think. This computer (God love it) is a "hand me down" from my parents when they got a new one. So I'm operating on an ancient machine with ancient software! I guess I could always just use the emoticons while I'm at work! LOL! I'll just have to say "picture of sun here" or "heart here". LOL!

I'll have to mess with it again when I get home. Or I can just steal my computer from here at work and take it home with me! LOL! Works just fine on this nice updated new computer! LOL! :sun:
Wish I could do that from home!

Karen, I know exactly what you're talking about because my computer at work kind of "asks" if you want to see the pop up. My ancient computer at home doesn't offer me this option. It basically says "too bad, so sad, we blocked this". Makes me mad! I know there is SOMETHING somewhere that I can go to and take off the pop up blocker (or whatever it's called). Where? I have no clue. This computer at work is actually a joy to be on. I go home and I'm like "This sucks." LOL!

roxy, I have no clue. I swear, it's friggin windows 2000 (what is that, like a million years old now???). It's just something that irks me. I guess I can live with it. I'll just put my emoticons on while I'm at work! And my computer at home doesn't even have sound. Poor thing. It's slowly biting the dust..... LOL!

Okay, thanks to a pm from pyb, I'm going to try this. I'm telling you, I'm computer illiterate! Sad to say since I work on a computer all day long! Let me see if this works...........

OMG! It works! It works!

Thanks everyone! I tried every single suggestion and pyb sent me link to go to and tried every single suggestion on there, which lead me to another place and tried every single suggestion on there and lo and behold! Look! I can now do neat-o stuff here at home! Hot damn! :sun:
