Just like all of you reading this, I used this website everyday trying to answer all my questions on how to become debt free. Well I finally found someone that could help me and six months from when I started I am debt free.

Like most of you, I was in over my head. I had good credit and I wasn’t behind in any of my credit card debt. I tried writing letters and calling my CC companies and NO ONE would help me. I searched the internet high and low and I wasn’t happy with the companies like debt settlement USA & the others out there who wanted to set up a payment plan for me and I had no control of my money, they did.

The company I hired to help me is called DELETED. There website is deleted. There goal is to settle my debt as much as possible because the more they save me, the more they make. I urge all of you reading this to look at there website and if you have any questions, email them. They are the most helpful, friendly, understanding people to deal with, and actually care about you becoming debt free. And for any of you that are curious on how much they saved me, I had $26936.16 in CC debt and I settled for $11,781 and that included their fee. It can be done and I highly recommend this company if you are serious about becoming debt free.

I could go on, and on about how wonderful they treated me, but you’re going to just have to see for yourself. I will be happy to answer any questions that anyone might have, because this is a scary thing to go through and I’m glad I did it, and I hope you do it too!

ADVERTISING IS AGAINST TOS - PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING.

Thanks for the information, can you tell me more?

Its a shame that good people cant read good success stories and know how it all happened. I've been reading these sites for months and now when it comes time to post my success you won't let me tell people how I did it. Well guess what, there of plenty of blogs on here that site names of companies like debt settlement usa and forgetadebt.com. Shame on this site.

We have said over and over that you can post your story- just don't advertise the company. It isn't necessary to name names of companies, only that one worked for you and how you have come out of this debt.

As far as what's being deleted, if you read the TOS you will find the reason. Emial removal is for your safety- other links that aren't specified in the TOS, and anyone elses email addy.

Why not just leave it like your original post, without the advertising, and share that debt consolidation has worked for you..Karen

Sorry to anyone who starts to read what I first wrote and wonders how I became debt free and now I cant tell you. There are hundreds and hundreds of companies out there that want to help you, but I unfortunatley can not tell you who helped me becuase this site does not allow any advertising.
All they want me to do is share my story, well I have, and I am debt free.
Im sure everyone is very happy for me, but would love to know who I used..sorry cant tell you thanks to this site.
And they wont allow anyone to contact me to ask, so sorry again for even posting.

Guest, why are you so angry. We encourage you to tell your story. We want to hear your story, yet you attack us. We are a great forum here, but we do have rules that we ALL have to follow. We do not allow advertising of any sort. This is not a direct assualt
against you. The same rules apply for us all. If you can stop being angry at us for a while , and tell us your story, we would love to hear it

jackszoey - you came to our site in January of this year seeking help to find a consolidation or settlement company. You found one - we're very happy you did!

We would love to hear your story, but if you read the TOS on this site, we do not allow advertising and linking to other company websites within posts. This whole mess could have been avoided by reading the TOS.

I'm sorry that you're so angry about this - but rules are rules. We have these rules in place to protect members and visitors to this site. We remove your personal e-mail address to protect you from those who would bombard you with spam or attempt to steal your identity. I hope you understand.

I just came to the site today and I'm very disappointed. I would like to have know who jackzoey went to so that I could check it out for myself. I wouldn't have considered it advertising since he had been a long term member (which the moderator would know) and it was something that worked for him personally. And the fact that he wanted to give his email so others could contact him (without advertising) shows that he is for real. People like me who are trying to investigate every avenue before making a very difficult decision should be able to get all the information. Not just censored information. It made me wonder if maybe you have an agenda.

PS on my post above. The reason some of us "newbies" would like names of companies that have truly been helpful, is that there are so many people in this business that have ripped off or taken advantage of individuals. I know for a fact because my brother-in-law got involved with one and what happened in his situation. (And this was a nationally advertised company). So that is the only reason that I personally would like to know who REALLY helped. Thanks for the time.

Actually, he was not a long term member having only 11 posts. Had he been a long time member he would have known that advertising of any kind is not allowed on these forums. It does not matter if a member is here for 1 day or 1 year, the rules state no advertising. We also delete any personal info like e mail addresses for the safety of our members. Another thing he would have known if he had been a member for a while.People come to these sites often looking for personal info that can be used in harmful ways, so we do not post it.Again for safety sake.
Yes we do have an agenda, that is to give our members a safe comfortable place to come to get answers and help for their debt problems.I would suggest that before you come on here and attack us, be familiar with what we are all about, and we will try as best we can to help
If you need help with something please ask

I do need help or I wouldn't be here. And PLEASE know I am NOT attacking you or the site. I know it might sound like it but in an email it is hard to read the "voice" of the email. It is not an attack but more a cry for help. I do understand your policies and why they are put there (especially the advertising one). But if someone WANTS to give their email address so other can check out something why can't they? I am NOT critcizing what you are doing. I have been searching on this site and found places where they want me to send my personal information to get help. I don't want to do that until I have researched all the sites where I don't have to give out my personal information. I am afraid of being bombarded with lots of unwanted calls or emails. I really am just a scared consumer who has gotten herself and her family into a bad situation (due to mostly medical issues)and want to get out without filing bankruptcy. I am sincerely someone that is looking for answers and I don't have all the time in the world. At the moment my credit is still good but I am borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Please know that I don't know this poster jackszoey and I am not defending him or getting into his argument. Sincerely I just want to know where to go (out there someone or even on this site)? I am really looking for help.

I'm really not trying to argue but when you first put the debtconsolidatecare dot com on your address line it asks for my name, email address and phone number. I'm not talking about inside the forums.

My debt is credit cards that I used to pay off medical bills after my husband's very expensive and prolonged cancer treatment a few years ago. We have a good income now but even with that our minimum payments are more than our income. I have actually been paying Peter with Paul's funds. I am trying to keep my head above water for 8 more months until my cars are paid off and it frees up some money. (My husband, in the midst of stage 4 cancer went car crazy and bought new cars for me and our son. What can you say to a man who thinks he's dying and I think in his mind is trying to provide transportation that will take care of us? At the time we did have the income for this but during his treatment and a little after his income fell. And his treatment with hospital visits in ICU came to almost $1,000,000. We had insurance but it doesn't cover 100%).

So that is my personal story. I hate to be here. I only have 8 months for the cars to be paid but each month I am having to borrow to pay the payments and borrow to make minimums.

I am right now in a class with my church about budgeting etc. That is when I actually realized how far in debt I was going trying to make ends meet. I have a credit card attached to my bank acct that covers overdrafts and it is only pushing my debt up. I have contacted the some of the CC people but was surprised when some advised to file for bankruptcy. I guess they get these poor me calls all the time. I haven't signed up for free consultation. Maybe that is where on this site they were asking for my information. I am really wary because I am so torn about whether or not I should do it. I have only 8 months until some big secured debts will be paid but in the meantime I will be adding $16-20,000 in debt to get there. I don't want to ruin was is good credit by doing some program that might effect my credit. I'm not really sure how these things show up on your credit report. We own a house but after we pay off our cars we want to sell it and move closer to his work (now 90 mins away). Since his treatment the road trip is really hard on him. Sorry for rambling.

Wow - That is a sad story. I'm glad you have shared this, and we will do our best to help you find a way out of this situation.

The thing is, if the original poster really wanted to help other's, all he has to do is register here. It's free, and there is no obligation at all. Then anyone that wanted the company info could send him a message through the site. The reason we don't allow emails to be posted is really for your own protection. It's just not a good idea, no matter how annonymous your email address is, to post it in a public place.

Have you looked into your options at all yet? There are two major types of debt help companies:

debt consolidation - This is where the company will work to consolidate your debt and lower your interest rates. You make one payment to the company, and they disburse the payments to your creditors monthly.

debt settlement - This is where the company has you save money every month in a special account. Once you have enough money in the account, they start negotiating with your creditors to settle the accounts for 50% to 70% on the dollar (or less). The downside to this is that your creditors can go months without receiving a payment, and there is no guarantee that you won't be sued in the meantime. But if you can save a lot of money within a decent amount of time this may be a good option to go with.

Any company you are looking into singing up with, please do your homework. Research the company as much as possible. There are many scam companies out there, and finding a reputable one can be difficult.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I think debt settlement wouldn't be good because right now I am not behind on any payments but I would be if I had to save (and like you said, by then the late fees, etc. would be racking up.) I have been looking at debt consolidation but haven't given out my info to anyone. I am wondering if this would affect my credit rating so that if we do sale and want to buy a house in a year would we be able to get a mortgage loan?

Sorry to say guest there are no quick fixes to this situation and yes it will affect ur credit rating but it will bounce back again after a while... but not immediately.
It took a while to get all the debt as we all know and it will take a while to pay it back!
Much luck to u,
Ang

Unfortunately with todays mortgage issues, a credit score of no less than 650 and 5-10% down will be required for a decent mortgage, even for second/third time homebuyers. The sub-prime mortgage boom is gone and so are the 0% down and risky loans.

I see you mention you want to sell your home, pay off your cars then buy another home closer to your husbands job. If you CAN sell your home, and I say can because the sales market is awful right now, I would take the profit $ from your home and use it as a down payment for another home.

This is jackszoey.

Well I am sad to say that I have been BOOTED from this site, and I am only replying because the other guest was told to PM me for my information and now she cant because I can no longer sign in to check if I have any messages.
I contacted the administrator last night to ask why and still have no response.

So sorry guest that I cant tell you who I used and can not provide you with any information to contact me. They obviously have other agendas on here of they completely took me off the site from signing on.

I wish I would of never told my story because this site has only angered me. And for all of you who "checked" up on me, I came here all the time to read peoples posts, that doesnt mean I had to put in my 2 cents or comments. Yes sometimes I asked questions but I felt when I was all debt free I could share my story. I tried that, AND I shared my story on this site where your suppose to put "success Stories" and they completely erased that too, SO a BIG thank you to all you!!

Again sorry guest I cant help you, but the people I used were out of Michigan, and I dont live in that state so they can help no matter where you are. Hopefully you can google debt settlement in that state.

I agree - I don't think you would be booted from this site. I ask you to please calm down - This site doesn't have any agenda. But it does have rules.

Are you just having problems logging in? I would try to log in with your email address and the default password = Then you can go in and change your password. Or you can click on the "Live Help" link on the right hand side of the page.

You are being very negative for no reason. The rules here are not hard to follow, and they all have very good reasons behind them.

This site is about helping people. I'm sorry that your original post was taken as an advertisment. But if you real reason for posting your story was to help other people you would understand the rules and do what you could to help. Not get all upset over nothing. So please, if you want to help people, please stick around. You've had great success and that is something people want to read about.

volleyballmom, Thanks! At this point I do have a credit rating of better than that and enough equity in my house for a new down payment. Fortunately in my area house sales are in that bad of shape. I do appreciate the advice from the site and somehow it seems just expressing myself has helped.

It doesnt even matter if I respond, but I will.

All day yesterday I could sign on --no problem.

TODAY now I get the messgaes "Specified incorrect or INACTIVE name" & when I do a passwprd check I get" Sorry that email address does NOT EXIST in our database"

I was booted. Sorry I can not check any PM's.

Has anyone heard of Name of Company removed again per TOS!

Please, we have asked you already, do not post the name of the company. We do not allow advertisments.

Welcome to the Community five :D It does feel better to be able to share what is going on- and then get help.

I hope you stay and continue to post.

Jack- you shared your story as have alot of us.

If anyone wants to know a particuliar company, all I have to say is, to check them out with the BBB. What may have worked for some, may not work for others.

If you sign up for the free credit counseling, they will contact you(someone from your area) and discuss options you may have-which you are free to choose or not.

We also have a Ranking Chart, located above your screen on the tabs, to help you decide which raod to choose.

Some people have used companies, some have done it themselves, both with success...KAren

I'm telling you, jack. You are able to receive pm's, so please stop insisting you were "booted". You obviously have not been. This is probably a small computer issue. It works just fine if I want to send you a pm. So you are not "banned". Calm down. I'm sure it can be fixed.

Fiveinfam - When you registered here, if you selected the option to have a counselor in your area call you, they will be able to help you discuss your options.

If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to post. I agree that debt settlement may not be a good option for you, since you score will decrease dramatically while you are waiting to settle, and even once you settle the accounts it may say settled on your credit report, and that can sometimes hurt you.
