I am a 35 year old compulsive debtor. In a period of 15 years, I have gotten myself in over 100,000.00 worth of debt. I work for the state, and my husband also works for the state, so we are by no means rolling in money, but in the beginning, the very first time I ran up about 15,000 worth of debt, we refinanced our house and paid the cards off. Well, that worked out well, and next thing I knew, I had run up about 25,000 worth. Again, when my husband found out, we re-financed the house taking out cash to pay the cards off. I have done that several times, and now, our house is totally maxed out. My husband is terrified that we are going to lose our house, or something, and I feel like the world's biggest idiot for getting us into this position. We are living paycheck to paycheck, and I am not able to pay any of my creditors. I had taken out a loan for 15,000. with a reputable company, and I can't make the payments on that, and now I have about 7 credit cards that are maxed out, that I can't pay for. I also took out about 6 payday loans that I can't pay for, and they continued to debit from my bank, and I have 2000.00 in overdraft fees that the bank wants. I am afraid to answer my phone, and I really just don't know what I am going to do.

We can help with the pay day loans if you want to tell us which state you reside in, who you have loans with, how much you have already paid back to each(fees and principle as one total for each). Are your loans internet or store front?
If you decide to consolidate your debt, they may also take the PDLs. I think it does depend on the companhy

Sounds like you may be insolvent and may qualify for bankruptcy. In the yellow pages look for a free consultation. If you can't make a mortgage payment they can foreclose and bankruptcy will give you time and stop any foreclosure proceedings ... bankruptcy will put a stay on collections. Sounds like you should take action soon and not avoid the problem.

Best of luck.

I agree with Sherrie. I have been in similiar shoes before, and bankruptcy was the way I went. I was unmarried at the time, and didn't own anything of my own other than my car so it worked out for the best. That was 3 years ago, and things are so much better for me. Now I stay at home with my son, so luckily I was able to clear up my credit stuff before I became unemployed. Now my husband has just a couple of cards with no balances. We still live paycheck to paycheck which sucks, but atleast we don't rely on cards and we try to be careful. I wish you good luck and I hope things work out for you the way they did for me.
