Help!!!!!!!Desperate!!!!

Now I want to take Citicard out of the program RIGHT AWAY, but customer service went home. Proposals went out on 9/21 or 9/25.
WHAT DO I DO?? Should I call Citibank & tell them not to close the Citicards account? I can easily catch up on my one citicard that is behind.
HELP! I'm so scared!!! I need to keep Sears open!!!

Since the proposals already went out, it sounds to me like it may be too late.
I'm not sure of the rules, but would you be able to call sears and open a new account?

I called Sears card-as I had the bill handy & my payments have never been late with Sears.
The rep for Sears said that even though they are BACKED by Citi card/citi bank, they said what happens with a Citi Card is with Citi Card & what happens with Sears card is with Sears Card.
I did tell the rep that if they receive ANY attempt to close the Sears account that I DO NOT AUTHORIZE IT & I'll continue taking care of my card myself.
The rep told me that if I leave the Citicard in the debt management Program to keep checking my Sears account in case both Citi & Sears get closed, but he really didn't think Sears would close as Citi is just a backer & my Sears card is really with Sears-not with Citi. He said if the Sears account gets closed to call back ASAP & they support staff will look into it for me.
I also called the debt consolidation Hotline. That rep told me that even though the proposals were sent out, nothing is really done on the account for at least 120 days. He said that in the morning (its 12:20am now) I should call Citicard & Sears card and tell them I DO NOT AUTHORIZE the debt consolidation proposal-to ignore it- & I'll keep paying like I have been. Then I should fax a written letter to the debt consolidation firm I'm using & tell them to PULL the Citi card from the plan.
Citi is actually a card I'm mildly behind on...not even a full 30days late yet & I could make the past due amount easily.
I just hope the debt consolidation company allows me to remain in it with just 2 cards...I have a Discover with $7500 on it & Chase with $8500 on it. I really need the plan for those 2...not so much the Citicard as that's only $1875.
Any thoughts????? I'm a little confused but waiting to see if the debt consolidation company will remove CIti from the plan & refigure my debts & give me a new payment.

With the amount on the other 2 cards I believe you would still be able to stay in the program. But if you go into the program don't you really want to get rid of all the cc debt? I mean can you really live without the sears card? And what makes that one so special? Sorry I don't mean to sound mean (i'm really trying not to be) I can see that your citi card does have a small balance and chase well all I can say about that one is  they are not an easy company to deal with.
But I wouldn't worry too much tonight. Just call the company in the morning and tell them you want citi out and they should be able to do that. Then just ask them to re-figure your program. They shouldn't make a big thing about it. And if they do, then I guess they were not the company you need to deal with, there are more out there that would be willing to help you. So take a deep breath and get some rest. Nothing more can be done tonight anyway. Let us know how it works out. I will keep my fingers crossed for you :)

I have to keep that one card open as my husband thinks I only have that one card. The others I had from before we were married & my spending got out of hand. I don't want him to know that, so I just entered my most expensive cards in the plan. Each week I squirrel away money to save for the plan-by the end of the month its enough for the plan.
I did talk to the consolidation company & they took Citi off the plan. No questions asked. They even reconfigured my payments!
I still need to follow up with Citi & tell them that I was going to enter that card in a consolidation program but changed my mind & I'll pay them asap. I'm only 1 payment behind & I can catch up. quick on that as the payment isn't much at all.
Thanks guys for listening to me!

After being married for almost 28 years, i understand the keeping things from your spouse! But be carefull- this backfired on me years ago with a debt. I was keeping it from hubby, but one day when I wasn't there, they called and he answered  It was tough going for a while, but we made it.
I don't keep things concerning finaces from him anymore- it causes alot of problems if you have to explain after you are caught!!
Good Luck and let us know if you need qustions answered, or just want ot post!..KAren

Thanks guys!
We don't have a home phone-just each of our cell phones. Plus he knows better than to answer mine. We got into a HUGE awful fight about credit cards when we first got married. I don't want to go through that again!
I called Citicard & told them that I was going to enroll my card in a program but changed my mind. The girl was really nice about it & said that she'll note my policy & if they ever receive proposals, they ALWAYS call the customer to verify if they really want to enter into the program. I told I most certainly did not.
So now I'm relieved...for now. Now just have to see how this first payment goes & if it gets to the creditors. I believe it will, but I always worry!

My husband doesn't answer our home phone, he carries a cell phone on him at all times. Boy what did we all do without those cellphones(LOL). Remember how big the first cell phones were when they first came out (LOL). I admit I have one also.
I don't know why we just don't get rid of our home phone except it is still nice when you have to send a fax out or your cell phone is dead. That's really the only time we use it.

We got rid of the house phone as all our friends called us on our cells because we are never home. Only our parents called our house phone. So it was a waste for us. We took the $30 we saved a month & got a DVR for our cable (through the cable company). Never had a problem with not having a house phone.
I can't live without my DVR oh I spoiled I have become. (LOL)
