Has anyone ever heard of Greenlight funding group.
the address i have is P.O.box 8736,Prairie Village,Ks
66808-0736. Are they legal or not?

Hi Granny. Greenlight funding is licensed in the state of Delaware, according to the info that I found. This does not mean that it is licensed in your state, and I seriously doubt that it is. There is a sample contract online and the wording ".....licensed and bonded in the state of Delaware....(blah, blah, blah)...can't remember the exact words. :-) Basically it said that regardless of your physical location they will just act as though you signed it in their office in Delaware and that it will apply to you regardless of where you live. BUT, that is kind of standard in these illegal loan contracts, I think.

I know you said you had another thread going on this board with more info, but just to help here, is your checking account now closed?

Good post pyb...which leads us to:

You will find the Payday loan laws for Delaware here (just select your state),

I went to the bank to close my account and what they did was open a new account with a new micro number and if any debits try to post they have a note on both account to notify me. (its a small bank)

and as far as greenlight funds, i did not sign a contract because they sent it to me in the mail, but i never sent it back. so, even though i did receive the money, and i did not sign a contract what are my legal rights:?

I don't want to stir the pot here...but if your state law says they are legal as long as they are licensed in another state...then you have to follow the law. Now you can request they stop ach debits and you can revoke wage assignments but you will have to make payments arrangements with them and pay them off. I would tell them (especially since they are out of the country) that you can not send the full amount all at once. I also would send money orders in leu of anything else.

well i rather not call, because i don't want no one to be mean to me right now. i am already in the dumps because i do have a job and other important bills are due and i cannot pay them. BIG calls me, but i tell them that i am not home. i know it's them because they always sound foreign and a lot of people are talking the background. the next time they call i am going to tell them that i died yesterday (cause of death stress) and if they want to get in touch with me to call on the heavenly father. I wonder if they will call back for his address?

started back smoking. got a call from some stuffy-nose woman and told her that i was not home. big called me and i told them that i was not home. paydayok sent me a letter and put it in my bills-that-i-can't-pay-until-i-get-a-job file. I received a reply from chex systems about what's on my file and good lord, so many pay-day loans inquired about me. I know one thing i am not going to try to open an account at another bank because i feeel like the pdl can find me. what do you think?

Hi Granny. Sorry to hear you started smoking again. Smoking is a tough habit to break...I know because I've tried to break it (unsuccessfully thusfar) myself! I think you should do what you feel comfortable with as far as the bank situation is concerned. Maybe opening a new account now wouldn't be the best idea. But, I would also not worry about the pdls at this time, as it seems you have more important things on your plate. Things will work out. Just give it some time. Have you started to look for a new job yet? If so then I wish you the best of luck. I know something will come along for you soon. :-) You can only do what you can do and these pdls can wait!
