When the white eagle of the North
Is flying overhead
And the browns, reds and golds of autumn
Lie in the gutter, dead

Remember then, the summer birds
With wings of fire flaying
Come to witness Spring's new hope
Born of leaves decaying

Just as new life will come from death
Love will come at leisure
Love of love, love of life
And giving without measure

Gives in return a wondrous yearn
Of a promise almost seen
Live hand-in-hand
And together we'll stand

On the threshold of a dream....

The Dream by Graeme Edge

What the author from the group the Moody Blues is saying here is from that which was once and now past, that may have even been painful, springs new opportunity, new love, new life.

This weekend I am going to start to appreciate more the fact that all things work together for good to those who have faith. Sometimes you can only see what is in front of you at the moment, appearing as a dismal abyss of trial or suffering that can appear unsurmountable. There is often a reason for what you go through and you realize it later. Wherein your faith is strengthened. Many friendships have been made right here on this site because of what were poor choices that brought us here to begin with. Now we are helping countless others who have come here for the same reasons. Once, when my car needed work, I sat there all bitter about how much it would cost. Not realizing that I would be led to the best mechanic, who is honest and fair, and a woman that I can always trust. You see there was a reason because two weeks later, as I was pulling out of my complex, the cars timing belt snapped. I called AAA and new exactly where to be towed. If not for what happened previously I would have been in the hands of Mr. Commission at the local National Tire chain spending twice as much for the same job. That is just a small example. Patty Hearst made a wrong turn in life but met her husband while in jail. That is little bigger example

This brings me to my Friday Frog question. What has happened in your life that may have been a trial or suffering that brought you to a special person or lesson or situation where the positive far out weighed the negative? Maybe it pointed out a strength or a gift that you never knew you had. I realize this is not as fun as the food thread of two weeks ago but it is food for thought which can be every bit as satisfying !

Forg...this is such an applicable post for me today. I am seeing what is in front of me right now and have been allday and yes, it is all overwhelming. But all the support and caring has gotten me through today.

I have always had a strained relationship with my mother. I was the epitome of a daddy's girl. My dad was sick for awhile and my mom worked a full time job, went to the hospital every day and really held it together. I learned what a strong amazing woman she is from this and we finally started to have a realtionship. Now we talk every day and have the greates relationship ever.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a very near miss car accident on the way to work...I mean I could see the eyes of the person who almost hit me...I had to pull over to breathe once I was safe...it honestly made me think about how short life is and how a nano second in time can end it. I wrote an email similar to my post to all my family and friends....and at the end told them how much they meant to me..I sent it to my entire address list...well there happened to be an old friend and a cousin in there I hadn't heard from in forever and a day....they both wrote after that and we are in the process of catching up the last 5-6 years!!

MOrning, I remember reading the story of your accident becuase something similar happened to me. I am so happy to hear you are renewing your relationships. I myself have spent the last seven years working out the issues with my mom and trying to "get to know" her since I never gave her a chance before.
