Yes, this is a major victory, if you ask me! Now, I know some will come here screaming the "just pay your debts" argument; however, none of us should have to deal with the underhanded tactics these junk debt buyers use to pressure us into paying. Yes, they may be our debts, but there are laws and we have rights! Not to mention, we need to stand up and let these people know that we understand our rights, and we are not just going to start handing over money and personal information to someone who sends us a threat on fancy letterhead or calls us on the phone. Give us proof!!! Give us information that proves that you in fact own the debt, have the right to collect on the debt, and work with us! So many of these accounts have had outrageous fees added. Who has $4,000 lying around to just hand over? Oh, and what about these deals for a high rate credit card to cover the debt? Those really make me laugh..."We will report your debt as current if you open this account at 22% interest to cover the balance!" What? So you can make even more money off of me, and back me up against a wall again so that you can sue me the second I slip up just once (as it seems these offers are especially common with accounts that are outside of the SOL)? I don't think so!
Down with the bottom feeders!!!!

Yea for you Karen!! I have been dealing with them for over a year and a half! Did your attorney write a letter saying for them to close it, or what happened?

My Attorney had sent them two letters,I had sent them two requesting validation of the debt. They never responded she told them they were in violation. She also sent lvnv funding llc a letter not to contact me.They continued to contact me.We racked up the violatons and the debt's sol had lapsed. They tried to reage it.........they probably felt better to close the account than go to court...too late my attorney is like a pit bull.......
Congrats. They are the largest debt buyer in the country, and a
