anyhow, what about something that never had a contract, like a medical bill? Where would I look up laws on how much a CA can legally charge in interest, if any?

wow thanks! Ok..so according to them the original bill was for 275.54 and now they are charging 404.15 so...they are trying to charge me around 45% interest?
How is interest calculated? Is it 6% of the original balance each year? Or is it just a straight 6% of the total?
Thanks VBmom!

Thank you!! WOW so these jerks are only supposed to be collecting a total of $292.07!!! OMG they are -so- overcharging me!
Not to mention that it is past the SOL for them to be able to sue me hehehe.
Oh! Heh they are trying to charge on top of some other bogus CA. They got this account from a CA, who had a amount calculated with interest..so these scumbags added interest on top of that when they bought this debt. What scum sucking odor eaters!
