My Story about a debt consolidation program

I posted it somewhere else, but just wanted to update... I am about $17,000 in debt with 3 credit cards...Chase for $8500, Discover for $7500 & Citi for $1900. I was young, foolish, overextended my self, abused cash advances & payments.

So now I'm in a debt consolidation program. I'm awaiting the proposals for Chase & Discover to be approved. Citicard I'm paying on my own. I figure I need to squirell away $400 a month. So I cut out a lot of non-essentials so I can save money. Its hard, but I have to do it.

I've had a few situations pop up since joining the program. Each time I come here & I get great advice.

Today I was depressed & worried that my proposals wouldn't be accepted. Then I read a post where someone bought a book to help them settle an account. So I got the idea "Hey...if I can't go through a debt negotiation company, I better get some books to help me negotiate with the creditors!!"

This place has so many good ideas that you'll find the help you are looking for if you just take the time to look & ask questions. The people here are the best & I wouldn't trade them for the world. Its nice to know that when you feel alone, you can always come here.
