I am 20 years old and have $21774.28 in credit card debt spread over 9 credit cards. I currently only work part time and bring home around $900 a month. I don't know what to do..Ive been looking at different debt consolidation and settlement companies and i get mixed reviews about each one. I can barely pay my min. monthly payments and I don't want to be paying on these for 30 years. Any advice on where I should look?

Did you ask for a consultation from here? Can't hurt to ask & you might get some idea on how to go.

Have you been on time with your payments? Maybe you could talk to your creditors & see if you could negotiate a lower payment? I've never done that, but it might be worth a shot.

Personally, I'd look more into consolidation. It'll be one payment a month instead of 9 payments. I don't know much about settlement, but it might affect the credit rating more.

Whatever you do Chi, just research it carefully. Debt Negotiations & Bankruptcy both stay on your credit report (for several years I believe). Consolidation might appear on the credit report but only as long as you are in the program.

Always check the places out with the BBB online.

Someone with more experience should be along shortly to help you out more!
