cease and desist

I've paid off all of my paid loans this week. Do I need to send a cease and desist letter to them. I will be going to my bank this week to talk to them about not allowing these transactions to come thru.

Generally, cease and desist letters only work when creditors place accounts with outside collection agencies. If the debt is still with the creditor, they do not have to honor a cease and desist request.
You could send a letter to the payday lenders revoking your authorization for them to debit your account, and also revoke authorization for any voluntary wage assignments, which a number of the online payday lenders incorporate into their terms.
The voluntary wage assignment basically says that you give the payday lender permission to garnish your wages through your employer if you do not pay up as agreed. They are not legally binding in most cases, because it is not a court ordered garnishment, but some payroll depts. do not realize this and will process the garnishment.

I understand, I've been there. You are definitely on the right track by going to your bank to see if they will block the debits from hitting your account. Let us know how it goes.

cannr help...I am not following. If the loans are paid off, what is Guest asking them to cease and desist and why are transactions still going through?
Is it the payments that he/she made to pay them off that he/she is trying to stop?

I just paid these transactions this week in full with each company. At this point I have only received 1 email stating that it was paid in full. My next paycheck will be next friday so I just want to make sure that no one will take out any more money. I've heard of all of these scams that people do that I'm just trying to cover every base to make sure that they do not get 1 more cent from me. Should I be receiving a letter from them? Should I call them and ask for a payed in full letter?
Thanks

guest, you need to get the PIF in writing from each one. Even if only via email (but I would also request they send one via USPS to me). But this way you will have proof the debt is PIF. If they were to try to debit your bank account again, you will have documentation stating it is PIF so you can dispute any unauthorized debits. Get them to send you a PIF letter and also stating on there that no further debits will be made and that the account is considered closed. This will cover your butt. You should be safe regarding the bank. But you need to get these PIF's in writing, definately!
