We are a small business and had our first unfortunate situation of a non-paying customer about 6 months ago...something I suppose will eventually happen to all businesses.

I was searching online and found the Ficka & Associates website, usacreditrecovery.com and thought I'd give them a try. What a massive mistake! I was originally dealing with a Stephen Scheckman who was a fast talking sales guy who I decided to go with simply because he called me everyday for a week. Apparently he was fired the day after signing me up....first bad sign.

A little while after signing up my client contacted me and wanted to make arrangements to pay after all, so I contacted Ficka & Assoc repeatedly for a month to figure out how to work that. No one ever responded to my calls. Then, I called to speak with the manager who told me to forward my emails and info to him and he would take care of me. Never got back to me......

As a couple months went by I more or less wrote off Ficka & Associates...they claim to call and give you a monthly report on the status of your collection. Yea, they call every month alright....a new person calls every time with no idea about your account trying to get more business from you. They kept calling and I kept telling them how bad they were...4 times they called and 4 times I told them the story. Every single time they apologized and said they would look into it and get right back to me...yea ok.

Then about 2 months ago, they called me to inform me that they couldn't collect on the debt and that the account would be canceled and tried to get more business. I told them no thanks, and figured that would be the end of my relationship with "just another bad company."

1.5 Months ago they call me and out of the middle of nowhere give me an update on that debt collection.... as if they were still trying to collect on it. I told them they called and canceled the account over a month ago, and sales person told me that wasn't on the computer. I told her about my terrible experience with them and that I didn't want the account reinstate...we hung up and I was just speechless.

A week later I received a bill in the mail telling me that because I canceled the account I would be billed!

I called and asked to speak with a manager. The sales women and I had it out on the phone because she lied for a while and told me there was no manager. Until I told her what happened, that I was contacting the Better Business Bureau and that I wouldn't pay anthing..then I was put in touch with the manager.

They put me on hold for fifteen minutes, they he gets right on the phone and he accused me of trying to scam them out of money! Didn't listen to a word I said and kept interrupting me while telling him my experience, and told me that they have lawyers working for them and it would be quite easy to throw my bill in with their collections!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing!

Then after explaining to him again that they called and canceled the account he told me I couldn't prove that. Then I pointed out their claim that if they can't collect a debt, they don't charge anything. He responded with "HOW DO YOU EXPECT US TO COLLECT A DEBT FROM SOMEONE WITH NO MONEY?"......ummmm does anyone see anything wrong with this? He then said "our bottom line is you're going to pay us one way or another"....he actually said those words!

He then told me if I gave them more business he might waive the fee....luckily I have no non-paying customers so I told him to reinstate my "canceled" debt to make this go away which he eventually did!

I have never had such a bad experience with a company to prompt me leaving a lengthy online report of what happened.

In all my life of being in business I have NEVER dealt with such poor customer service, rudeness on the part of ALL employees including management, or an overall sense that Ficka & Associates is ONE BIG SCAM.

Unfortunately before realizing what they were I referred an associate over to them to collect a debt, and he is dealing with a similarly disgusting situation.

I will be reporting these guys to the Better Business Bureau and hope that someone shuts them down someday. In my free time I plan on sharing this story on every credit/business report website I can find!

Moral of the story is STAY CLEAR of Ficka & Associates...aka usacreditrecovery.com and William Ficka. This is one SHADY business!

Wow! So sorry you had that experience. If you are a business owner who gave them business and got treated that way, I hate to think how they treat the people they are trying to collect from.

I would suggest reporting them to your state Attorney General's office in addition to the complaint with the BBB. The complaint with the AG usually has more impact than the BBB complaints.

Thanks for posting your complaint, Jackie. Unfortunatelyi read it after having started a collection effort with Ficka&Assoc. Yes, I also got a bill from them however I have a paper trail from them stating they can't collect plus my e-mails and faxes telling them to forget about the case. At any rate, everyone reading this, stay clear of Ficka & Assciates dba USACreditRecovery.com

i have a similiar experience with them. But i will say this is may not be that they havent been able to collect i was an employee with ficka and associates aka roman and associates aka debtrecovery system aka usa debt collections.com and they are fraudulent. they are known to collect on a debt and not send the money to the actual creditor. It is a shame. they also hire people have them collect for them and then fire then as to not have to pay a commission. its really sad.

The company that I worked for also decided to give Ficka & Associates a chance earlier this year. They were able to collect on the debt that I submitted to them in May of this year and I am still trying to get our money out of them. I found it almost humerous when I read the first entry and it mentioned Steve Scheckman. In my profession, I should have researched this company before agreeing to use their services, but I did not. I too decided to give them a try because Steve Scheckman called me every day for a week. I was told last month by Basil that Steven was let go because he "dropped the ball" on many other accounts in addition to ours and that we would have a check within a week. We of course did not receive a check as promised and my attempts to contact Basil have fallen on deaf ears. Today I called Ficka and just our of curiousity, I asked for Steven. I was told that Stephen was in jury duty and the gentleman who identified himself as William Ficka asked if he could help me. He made the ill excuse that his company has made 4 attempts to get our company's tax identification number and has received no response. I advised that that was BS because they have had MANY opportunities during my numerous phone calls to their offices to request this information and it was never done. Mr. Ficka has once again promised that he will be cutting me a check tomorrow. Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint with the Florida attorney general's office as I do not believe we will ever receive a check from this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I used Ficka & Assoc, they collected my money and sent me my $2,300.00 within 35 days. I then contacted them regarding further submission and they were not rude but excited to have helped my siutation. I own a trucking company out of Houston, TX and have been satisfied for the most part. I am not sure why so many of you had bad experience with them. Sometimes it takes tactics not rudeness to get ther job done. Being firm instead of abbrassive is required to handle some agencies. Other than that I wish you all good luck for all my cases have now been collected it took 82 days, and I never thought I would see a dime from these debtors.

Our company too, has submitted numerous claims during the initial agreement and received nothing! This was over a year ago. After contacting the company numerous times, only to have not return phone calls i finally reached Basil. Once addressing the issues with him of no contact from his company in over a year, unable to reach someone to discuss our accounts without having to call on a daily basis, and overall poor service I asked for the owners name which he replied that "He was not going to disclose that information". I called again later and asked for Basil to inform him we needed written confirmation a\of all accounts they had closed and to start the process of closing all other accounts. Basil passed the call to a being (man would not be an appropriate term for whom ever it was I spoke to) claiming to be William Ficka. When I stated that he was not an attorney and the company was a fraud, the words he chose to use would've have made Chris Rock blush! It is obvious that he has a serious insecurity of women and complete lack of class or intelligence. I think for the 5 minutes he was on the phone screaming obsenities and making disgusting sexual implications (but he's an attorney, right) he may have used 2 or 3 actual words of value. Completely amazing that there are still men out there that are this threatened by a woman. Needless to say, we will be contacting the Florida Attorney General as suggested, the BBB, and probably the BAR Association if in fact "William Ficka III" is an attorney....roaring laughter!

I do hope that others do research before contacting this company.
