SRA Associates -- this gal is in total VIOLATION!!!
Date: Fri, 10/05/2007 - 12:41
She goes on to say that her "client" has asked her to contact me. She never says she's a collection agency. I didn't know if she was an atty's office or what?
Anyway, I REPEATEDLY asked for notification in writing. She yells, "REQUEST DENIED!" I told her I didnt' have anythign from her -- she said, "I hear that all day long!"
Believe me -- if I had rec'd something -- I would have sent a validation letter already.
She is not affording me my 30 days to dispute. She manufactured some Tuesday deadline!!
She stated that I had been notified by Bank of Amer and I have had AMPLE time to deal with this! She was sooo rude and hostile!
She also yelled, "I KNOW THE LAWS!!!"
omg! I was literally shaken by her. I know this is her tactic -- and i don't usually become affected by this - but she was something else!!
I know I can file a complaint with the BBB. Do you guys recommend that?
In the meantime, I have no account number or anythign to reference. She can't just send this account to my credit report, right?
I feel like I should write something to them so I ahve proof of disputing this.
Any ideas?

Contact your attorney generals office, file a complaint there, as well as they attorney generals office for they state they are located in. Also file a FTC complaint. I doubt they even have anything to back it up for them to jump the gun, not even give you the mini-miranda, and to treat you in that manner. If she refused to give you anything in writing, then they probably don't have enough information to put anything in writing. A DV letter would also be a good course of action.
Here, I think this is them:

Doesn't it just come down to a he-said/she-said situation? How do I prove she behaved that way? Or do I just lodge a complaint and they take it to the collection agency?
I feel like I can sue them at this point for violating several rules of Fair Debt Collection Act.

I would also document as much as you could remember of the conversation, word for word, if possible. Get her name, the time of day, things like that. It would be easier for them to trace with more details.

Sometimes there are not as many complaints on the BBB because the BBB can not do anything. The FTC can and the state attorney general can. Make sure you are making these reports. People like this SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!
