CTC will be very threatening, but stand your ground, what you need to do is fax them and mail them a letter that revokes voluntary wage assignment. You may want to let your payroll department know or give them a copy of the letter that you send to them. That voluntary wage assignment is somewhere in their paperwork, I dealt with these worms, they are one of the nastiest. Don't be scared, we are here for you. Are you able to send them anything? What state are you from and how much did you borrow from them?

I read their paperwork throughly and I did not see anything about a voluntary wage assignment. Where would it be? I am in California and I borrowed $400.00.

If you did the docs on line, it would be the second document after the note. Basically you e-signed it just as you did the other docs.

Well I am typing up the letter right now. Will this really prevent them from taking my paycheck? Is there any address for these people?

Lindsay, please be advised that E-Care Contact Centers operates Cash Transfer Centers. At the present time, they have a Desist and Refrain order against them by the State of California Department of Corporations. This means that they cannot service residents of California. This order has been in effect, I believe, since March 2007.
That means that your loan is not valid and they can be criminally charged. I would notify the Department of Corporations that this company gave you a loan illegally and that you wish to register a complaint. Pay only the principal and no interest.
Here is the link to read up on them.

Exactly right, PDL Investigator. And I can tell you that the Dept of Corporations would love to hear anything they may say or try to pull on you--and I wouldn't hesitate to fill out their complaint form tout suite and send it in.
I can tell you that the only way they can legally garnish you in CA is by getting a court order--and since they are illegal, they're not going to risk that.
However, you do need to write your letters revoking your wage assignments ASAP and get them to your HR Dept. CTC is counting on the fact that you don't know your rights in California and will try and beat you to the punch. Don't let them!

Cash Transfer Centers WILL send a wage assignment to your employer. I am not trying to scare you. Only to prepare you. I revoked any wage assignment I may have signed with them. However, they sent one to my employer anyway. You need to get that revoke letter typed up. You need to keep a copy. Give a copy to your employer. You need to send that letter to Cash Transfer Centers. You need to do this NOW. You may also want to "educate" your employer that wage assignments are totally voluntary and do not have to be honored. You may also want to tell your employer that this company is an unlicensed/illegal overseas company. This way they will have a better understanding that this is NOT a wage garnishment (which would require a court order) and it is totally voluntary and all they have to do is say "no". But you need to have documentation. Please do this for documentation purposes to cover yourself.
