I am looking for advice about resurgent capital services.I got a letter from them about a credit card that i owed on.I do owe on this card, they offered me a credit card with the debit on it.Well I guess I was born yesterday because i fell for it.Now what i want to know is if i don't activate the card do i still owe them and what can they do about it? Thanks.

I'm sorry I didn't explain it right.I had a sams credit card that I didn't pay for,Resurgent must had bought it.They sent me a letter offering a visa credit card that would have what i owed sams on it,I sent it back to them but haven't recieved the card yet. What i wanted to find out is do i have to accept the card and does that mean i owe them now.

Hmmm...That IS a sneaky little trick! I would think that if you signed the contract that you have to accept the card. Also, be careful that they don't send it to you in an already active state. I had one send me a card I applied for that was already active. I almost freaked out. What if someone would have intercepted it in the mail??? Just make sure you get your hands on that card!

Wow...you can never put anything past those collectors. That is totally boggling...but then again, I can see why they would pull something like this. Basically they just locked you in to pay this debt with interest.

I would keep your initial offer letter and read the contract with a magnifying glass...they could try to jack up your rate. Wouldn't put it past them.

Yep. I'm serious. It was active. I don't have the best credit (as you could've guessed. :-) ) so I applied for a card to get some positive stuff on my report. It is current, and I don't have any problems, but it was active when I got it!

I think it is a good idea, too, Lc to see if they will work with you. Good point. What would they do if you chose to not accept it.
