Can it be done?

I tried to give it to Chase over the phone & they wouldn't take it. I'm wondering if a letter to them would be more effective?
Chase is really stressing me because now I'm 90 days past due on it & I just want them to recognize I'm in a plan.
The consolidation company said that if I called & told them I was in a plan and they wouldn't listen, the consolidation company would have no effect either. Chase is hard to deal with until they get paid they tell me.

All good questions. I'll have to check into that. I didn't think to ask about the wording. I'm so new to all of this & need to be more demanding as I'm paying them to perform a service. My problem is I'm too nice & don't want to make waves... but I think I need to.

The "Cease and Desist" laws are created through FDPCA and apply only to collection agencies. You can't exactly tell a creditor never to call you, since they are not a CA.
You could write a C&D letter to them, but you have no legal recourse if they don't honor it.
Your best stance, instead of sending a 'demanding letter', is to send a 'polite' letter asking them to honor your commitment thorugh the debt consol company.

I did find out the consolidation company is kind of at a stand-still. While Discover was good enough to maintain contact with the consolidation company & not me-even though there hasn't been a payment made & the proposal hadn't been received yet, Chase won't even talk to the consolidation company until they have money-either from me (to catch me up)or the consolidation company-doesn't matter if the proposal was sent. They are real buggers Chase.

Lawn...I think all the CC compnaies work differently. I am in a debt management program..and just today (after 4 months of payments) recieved a letter from 1 of the CC saying that they would be reporting me now as current and correcting my credit report as long as they still recieve payments...on the other hand..there is 1 CC that is accepting payments but still sends me past due notices every month and never did "accept" our proposal.

Really Morning!! With the one that sends you past due notices, do they call too? Are they charging you interest on top of the past due or just applying the payments?
I wish they all did & acted the same! Would make life so much easier!
