Hello
I have 5 outstanding payday loans totalling $1950.
Is there a way I can get a loan amount to pay these off and only have one payment?
Any suggestion would help.
Thank you
Rebecca Burton

Who you have loans with

Hello
The outstanding loan amount is $1950 and they are with:
1. Geneva Roth Ventures $400 + $120 interest = $520
2. CMG Group, LLC $300 + $90 interest = $390
3. 500 Fast Cash $300 + $90 interest = $390 paid down $50 = $325
4. Paycheck today $300 + $90 interest = $390 paid down $50 = $325
5. PayDay2Go $300 + $90 interest = $390
I live in the state of Massachusetts.
They are all internet loans

You will find the Payday loan laws for Massachusetts here (just select your state),
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

here are the laws for your state. As you can see these loans are not permitted in your state. First things first. Please read the following regarding closing your account so that the debits will stop

Some banks have a policy regarding ach transactions that allows them to force open closed accounts if any ach transactions go through within a certain time frame after the account is closed. This can leave you owing a legal bank $1,000's and reported to chexsystems, instead of owing barely legal (or not at all legal) payday loan companies. Not a good thing. Ask your bank what their policy is on ach transactions on closed accounts before you close the account. It's best to go in person and talk to a branch manager.

If your bank does have this policy, tell them your situation. Don't be embarrassed. Take letters with you showing that you have revoked authorization for each of your payday loan companies to debit your account. Tell the bank to put your account on deposit only, an ach block, or a hard hold before they close the account. Your bank can do one of those, don't take no for an answer. This will prevent any payday loan ach's from reopening the bank account.

It'a always best to close your bank account. Leaving it open gives ways for the payday loan companies to continue to take money out. These companies have many different dba's, so blocking them won't work. They will also produce paper checks and run them through your account. Closing the account is the best way to prevent these companies from taking money out of your account.

Some state laws do allow for prosecution if you close your bank account, but that is usually in cases of fraud. But it's always best to check with your state's attorney general or department of financial institution before you close your account. You want to make sure you are not causing more heacaches!

If it is possible we do suggest that you close your account and open another one at an unrelated bank. This is the best way to be sure that you are safe from the ach debits. stopping payment will certainly not work. These companies have so many different names that they will use, that its impossible to stop them.
After you gain control of your money , you can then start to pay them in a manner more acceptable to you

Some of the ipdl's will call your references . . . . But it's pretty hit or miss. Many people, like Kashzan, never had any of their references called.

If you are only able to call the bank, please just tell them that you've comprimised your account information online, and that you need the account closed and frozen so that no further charges go through. Do not mention payday loans, just say that there are no pending transactions and that there is nothing else authorized to go through. Since you can't go in person this is the best thing to do. If you say you are fighting payday loans then chances are good that you will get some high and mighty person on the phone telling you that it's your fault and that the bank can't do anything to help you. That is not what you need.

Yeah rebecca, It is a mess, but you will get out of it. I started with 7 loans and with the help I got here i am down to 3. You dont realize when you get one of these IPDLS that it can and will impact every aspect of your life. Do what you can regarding your account and things will start to fall into place.

Hang in there Rebecca, things get so much better once you get control of your money. Then with the help of everyone here, just work at paying the PDL's off on your own terms, what ever you can afford. I also have 7 PDL's, none of them have contacted my references, so hopefully you'll get lucky also and they won't contact yours. Good Luck with everything.
