Ok, well I've been dealing with the BBB regarding MTE/Unitedcash loans.. Are they really the same company? This is the reply to the complaint I made to the BBB. Quote:
MTE FINANCIAL SERVICES FAX: 866-668-0535 Email: compliancedepartment(at)mtefs.com October 26, 2007 Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Oklahoma Attn: Dan Wade 1722 S. Carson Ave. Suite 3200 Tulsa, OK 74119 RE: Mr. Wade, We have reviewed another rebuttal forwarded to our company which Kristi filed. In this rebuttal, she is referencing a company by the name of United Cash Loans. We have no affiliation with any such company. The settlement letter which she pasted a copy of in her response was not sent to her by our company. Her account with our company had never gone to collections. In fact, she had not even made her first payment for the loan that she received from us before filing a complaint with your institution. As stated in our most recent response, sent on 10/17/07, Ms. Ulrich had 24 hours in which to respond to our offer (which we sent directly to her when she initially filed a complaint directly with our company). Unfortunately, due to the fact that she has not accepted the offer made and clearly refuses to repay the debt, as she plainly stated in her most recent rebuttal, the offer is no longer be valid and her account has been referred to an outside collection agency for recuperation of the loss. We will consider this matter closed unless we hear from you. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Respectfully, Compliance Department |

MTE has about 30 DBA's...just ask Cannr...she has a list going somewhere..I had both of these two....but each one is treated separately by the "mothership" so to speak... even though they are all part of the same base. I think I had 4 all different names and they all reacted differently to my defaulting.

This dept is unable to do that. Any reduced balance must be paid in full, especially if we offered to waive all fees, and essentially give you free money with no interest. If not paid by 10/31, then the account will continue in collections for the full amount, and you will need to make arrangements with the collections dept. This offer was more than fair, and if you cannot meet it, then that is your choice. We placed the funds in your account, at your request, for your own use. We are asking for those funds back, and we have given you the funds for more than 2+months, interest free. That will end tomorrow 10/31/07.

I do want to pay my $300 settlement with your company. However, I request that the $300 be broken down to 4 payments of $75.00. I do appreciate the help you provided in funding me the loan. I just request that we can negotiate a more reasonable settlement that will accompany my needs.

krist, they are friggin insane! They are illegal. You are trying to pay them money back. You LEGALLY can get away with not even doing that; however, you are bending over backwards to get these people their money back and they are saying "no"???? To me, they do not want their illegal loan back. Do not stretch yourself "too thin", krist. You pay your bills first and take care of yourself first. These illegal morons can wait. I can not believe they are even attempting this crap with you. They should be glad to see someone actually paying them their money back to their unlicensed/illegal company. Unreal. Do not even worry about them, krist. Just pay your bills that you need to pay. Pay your stuff. Buy what you need. Get gas. If you feel like it, send them a money order for a small amount of money. Whatever. To me, they're stating in huge letters that they obviously don't want your money. Just my opinion. But you know how I feel about them, krist. Do not let them get to you. They are friggin insane. Turning down your offer to pay their illegal butts back. Give me a break! Do not neglect your bills, krist. Pay your stuff. Worry about these guys later. Way later.
Thank you so much Cannr!! I am NOT going to do anything further
Thank you so much Cannr!! I am NOT going to do anything further with them. I am going to pay what I have to (regular bills) and they can shove it!! I'm kinda surprised that they won't accept payments arrangements, afterall they did give me free money!! LOL!! suckas!!
reply
krist, I am so glad to read your post! You go, honey! I mean, I don't make it a practice to tell people to "not pay" anything. But Good God Almighty, krist! You have been begging these people to take your money and they are turning you down! Totally unreal! Besides the fact that they are not even licensed/legal, they won't even accept payments from you. What is their problem? Well, they can sit on it. Let them play their games. They know darn well they can not LEGALLY collect this money. Yes, they will try to harrass the crap out of you; however, you have so much proof to send them showing your attempts at paying them. To me, they can sit in the closet and collect dust. krist, you pay your bills. You let them sit there with their NO MONEY and play email games. Honestly, if it were me (just me), and they emailed me again regarding this, I would just make sure I kept the email. I wouldn't even respond. You can file a new complaint with the BBB if you like or with your state AG. You can give them an "update" on your efforts and how they've rejected them. However, you can also sit back and say "Never mind." They are insane. Turning down money from someone. I have never in my life heard anything so stupid. And from an illegal company. You would think they would be glad to see one red cent. krist, pay your bills, buy your groceries, and rent some damn movies to entertain yourself. Thank these jerks for the money for the entertainment!
It's sad because I am an honest person and I wanted to take care
It's sad because I am an honest person and I wanted to take care of this. Yes, I borrowed money from them and I don't legally have to pay them back.. I was just trying to do the right thing... Oh well.. I still have a folder for them in my email. Now I can focus on getting all my other crap taken care of..
Funny how I've read your words to NOT pay them and i try to..lol Then it dawns on me, "hey, they aren't willing to work with me and they are ILLEGAL so they can kiss my tan tush."
reply
I just figure if you bend over backwards to pay an illegal company and they refuse to take your payments, well, okay then. I'm sure you have better things to do with your money. Like pay your bills. Tough cookies for them. You tried your hardest, which is more than a lot of people do and they shot you down. Hell, go out to dinner on them!
