I live in Alabama. Out of 4 payday loans(all on-line)I only owe them each $390.00 When I aksed one company (Genevia-Roth) how did they get my new account information, she said that the work with a banking network that will give them any information on any new checking account that I open. The other companies are ameriloan,MTE,and the other one I will have to go get my paper work on. MTE has debted my account for so many fees. Genevia-Roth debted my account for $800.00 and the AmeriLoan was the one that dumped the money in my account and I cant track them down. These people have ruined things for me. I would rather send them in the money but they said no,I would have to wire them the money. And there is no telling how much that i owe them in late fees. They wont work with me and I have really lost control. My bank closed my checking account,I owe them $536.00 in nfs fees.

Here are the laws for the state of Alabama. As you can see you have overpaid according to your states laws. I don't think any of these companies are licensed to do business in your state either. There are people on here who are familiar with Alabama law and I am sure you will find much help here. I would go and meet with the branch manager of your bank and explain what happened. I went through the same thing with my bank but I did eventually get all the NSF fees reversed. I can't believe that a company can find your new routing info. Was it in the same bank?

Frog-Yes, very much so without a court order.
purple-I am confused...on your first post you say that you didnt apply with these companies?? So you didnt apply on line, over the phone or anything?
Also, Geneva Roth is feeding you a scare tactic...Indeed if there was such a network, it would be a walk in the park for PDL's to get our info.

I applied for all but ameriloan. I did not apply for any other loans after I opened the new account. And from what I dug up online,MTE owns AmeriLoan. And the woman from Genevia-Roth said that when my old account closed, they used some type of American Banking Ass.to track down my new bank account information. She also said that it was legal for them to do this.

It's still there, matter of fact the balance is $3.51. Now i do know that they can check inquiries through chexsystems, because i have my chexsystems report and it showed different pdls inquiries. I cannot understand how they can get your account #. :?

I can honestly see ameriloan doing this. Depositing money into purplerain's account. And the reason I'm saying this is because purplerain already had a pdl with MTE. You know how many d/b/a's MTE has. Good God. They probably used your information and made a deposit. However, they would need some loan documents with your electronic signature. Did you say that Ameriloan debited $800 from your account? Do you mean all at once? Or by debits each week? Your bank closed your account. So now the pdls will not be able to debit that account. However, you're saying that Geneva Roth "found" your new account. Okay. Fine. CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT. If any pdl finds your new account, close it. I'm totally confused as to how they got your account number, but to hell with them. I'd have that thing shut down so fast. And, if this is indeed the case, that these places can use some other company to track down new accounts, I'm amazed. In that case, I wouldn't open another friggin checking account period. I'm begin serious. Here this person had an account, got NSF fees enough for the bank to close it, got a new account, the pdl found it and debited it. Hell, I would shut it down and not open another account. Just me though.

i would go to the bank and question them to find out how those people got my account number and tell them that this was an unauthorized debit and i want my money back. :x
