Hello,
Here is a question, maybe it's been asked/answered a million times. I guess one more time won't hurt.
What is the importance of getting a PIF?? My goal is to have these crooks just finally give up and leave me alone. I don't care how they mark my account. When I see "I received a PIF today", does that mean on their credit report? Or is it just written documentation that the loan has been paid. I don't need to be paid in full, because these loans are illegal, and there is nothing they can do to get any more money from me. I don't care how hard they try. I welcome their efforts, but they will be in vain.
As for the credit report, that does concern me, but again, not too worried about what an illegal company puts on my credit report. I'm willing to fight that battle with the credit bureaus if I have to. I'm confident I won't have too though.

Good luck everyone!

sub, good question! Getting a PIF from the pdl just means they are finally off your ass and you have it in writing. I personally love documentation. If I have it in black and white, I'll hold on to it until they pry it from my cold dead hand! Plus, this will also prove to be helpful if they do report you to the credit bureaus. As this has happened to me. I was reported and of course disputed it; however, I did have documentation that the loan was PIF. Now, I have to agree with you. These are illegal companies and they can play their games as long as they want to. But when it comes to reporting to the credit bureaus, it really pisses me off. But, then again, you can dispute it. It just really helps in the long run to have something from the pdl stating PIF. You can throw it in their face anytime they pop up and try to pull something. However, for the ones I don't have a PIF from, I'm with you. They are illegal, so whatever floats their boat. But watch your credit reports. It was just suggested to me by goudah to check mine. I did. Lo and behold, there was a nice illegal company on there reporting me. A nice illegal company that I had overpaid and even received a refund from! Hello! I had documentation (email) that it was PIF and a refund was issued. It made it easier to dispute.

Yeah, thats what I thought cannr. I logged on to 2 accounts last week, and they both said my loans were PIF. I printed those out, they had dates, etc. Of course, thats changed now though. I think it automatically says that on the date the loan is due. If I have to, I can use those printouts! Hahahah. It's devious, but you have to fight fire with fire.
Okay, I probably shouldn't do that if it comes down to legal action, but I'm confident it won't come to that. I'll keep those printouts anyway, just in case. If anything, it will show just how stupid these people really are.
Tomorrow I'm calling "Ty" from Cashtransfercenters.com. He's so funny. Hahahha. He plays good cop, bad cop all in the same phone call. Normally it takes 2 people to play that, but he plays both roles. Hahahaha. Whats funny, he goes back and forth, he doesn't even stay consistent with what part he's playing! Hahaha. Today he told me he had good news, he said the laws of Malta applied this this loan. Yawn.. Hahahah. What a fool. Tomorrow I'm going to demand some info from him, or I'm never going to speak to him again. I want to know exactly where the company is, where he is, etc etc, all that info. I told him my chain of command, the state government, etc, etc is involved, I can tell he's kinda scared. He's gotta know he can't win. What really pisses him off is how nice I am to him. I asked him how his weekend was, if he had kids, etc etc. Hahahaha. It really pisses him off. He doesn't know what to say to me.

sub, good for you! First of all, just keep those print outs. You never know when they might come in handy. And Cash Transfer Center? Oh Lord. How can you speak to "Ty"? They drove me absolutely crazy. I couldn't talk to them. But I know you, you'll play the game. And I'm all for it. And, yeah sure, you have to abide by Malta laws. That's what I argued about for about 15 minutes before realizing I just wasted 15 minutes of my LIFE arguing with these idiots about Malta law. Good God. I just hung up.

Ty's okay. He hasn't been that bad so far I guess. I'll eventually get tired of answering the phone, but for now I guess I'm okay with it. I'm not a coward like those companies are. I'm not afraid of them. I don't mean to say that if you avoid answering the phone you're a coward, I'm just saying they have all the info in the world on us, and we know nothing about them. They have everything. Our SS#'s, our phone number, address, where we work, friends and families info, etc etc. Why won't they share any info with us?? I'll tell you why. They're all a big bunch of cowards. That's one of the ways you know they're not on the up and up. If I was legit, I knew my rights, I was in the right, etc etc, I wouldn't be scared. I'd give out any information that a consumer requested. But they won't do that.
Oh, one of the companies called my dad. I had already told him that they might. Hahahaha, my dad, he's a freak. He told them "that SOB, he owes me money too!". He asked them how to get ahold of me, etc, etc. Hahahahah. Not sure if they'll be calling him again. I told my mom and my 2 references to do the same thing. I'm lucky really, my family and friends are cool with it (for now anyway). I'm just glad I gave them a heads up in the first place!!

sub, that is priceless! I'm going to start giving out your dad's phone number! You are very lucky to have family that will stick up for you and play their games. Unfortunately, there are a lot of members who don't have that advantage. But I'm loving this! Between you and your dad, it's a wonder the pdls keep calling! I think I would just send you an email! LOL!

I'm telling you cannr, I was so scared about all this before I got help. Not a single soul, other than me knew about all this. When it got so bad that I considered cashing in my life insurance policy (if you know what I mean) I decided I needed to get help. I had to tell my family and friends. As embarrassed as I was, I just had to. My family isn't any different than anyone elses. But I knew that the only way I'd get through this was if they knew about this too. After all, I expected them to be called. I remember thinking, after the first time the loans weren't paid, I felt good. And then it hit me, crap!! They're gonna start calling my mom, dad, and the 2 friends I listed. That really hit me in the stomach. But I had to talk to them about it. Besides, I was already getting used to talking to people after I had talked to my family, and my chain of command at work (boy, talk about tough!!). My Chief told me that he looked up to me, and that he was disappointed in me. Wow. That really got to me. But he also told me he was proud of me for coming to him for help, admitting all this crap, etc. After that, everything else was easy!! Hahahah.

Sub - That is awesome that your dad responded like that! I'd have loved to be on the other end of the phone to see the looks on their faces when he said that stuff! Hilarious!

I think PIF are important, even when the loans are illegal. It also depends on what state you live in. In some state's the "legality" of the loans is kinda gray. In those states having PIF's is very important. In the states where it is black and white, not so important for legal purposes, but it makes everything much easier. The problem with these pdl's is that they don't go away until you get that PIF. They will pop up years after you defualt.

As far as your Teletrack report, I don't care if mine is dirty. I'm not planning on taking out any more pdl's ever. But if they do report on your credit report, then a PIF is a good thing to have.

sub, thanks for sharing your story. My friend, it does take guts to tell people about this. Still, no one except these members here know my "dark secret life". No one. Having to tell your "big bosses" in the military must have been sooooo hard. But it goes to show you that you are big enough to own up to it and admit it. That should make you proud of yourself. I'm proud of you. And you know that you have us behind you 100%, no matter what. And I feel like I have you on my side. That's what it's all about. I'm proud to consider you a friend of mine & to share with you. Keep on going, sub. You're A-OK!

Goudah, thanks brother. My dad is a freak. He doesn't care. He's on my side no matter what.
I suppose a PIF is important, I'll work for that. Like you though, the teletrack doesn't really matter to me. Although, one of the companies, cashtransfercenters.com, told me that for instance, a grocery store, etc could deny a check because of teletrack. I've seen those signs in stores, but do they really do that?

Thanks Cannr. It was hard. It's still hard. So far, only cashtransfercenters.com has called my work. Whats cool, and I didn't find out about this until tonight, they called my work today, a guy answered and they wanted to talk to my payroll. Of course he didn't transfer the call. He told my Lieutenant, who told him the next time they call, he wants to talk to them. Hahahha. He's not some new LT, he's prior enlisted, been in forever, doesn't take crap from anyone, etc etc. It's awesome to have people on my side.
Thanks for the kind words Cannr, I wish I could help you and everyone else here. I'm excited for my successes, etc, but I feel bad that others are going through the same messes that I am. If I figure out how to beat them guys, you can believe that I'll share it on here.

Thanks, sub! You're already helping! Just posting your experiences so far has given others insight as to what to expect. Awesome! I think I'll have your LT take my phone calls from the pdls! LOL! I know you're going to come out on top. And I can't wait to hear all about it, my friend!
