Doggs, i'm with you girl. I had a loan with Aarowhead. I haven't paid them a dime. They emailed me a few days ago and said they turned my account over to a collection agency (AIS Services, LLC).
I'm not sure about the other 2, but I'm confident someone on here has the info your looking for.
As for closing your account. That's exactly what I did. What state do you live in? You should check the laws in your state before you do that. But it is definitely something I'd want to consider. Let me know what state you're in and I'll see what I can find out for you.
Bottom line, don't be scared. You'll get through this. Trust me when I say this. Don't fall over, but right now I have around 14 loans that I have "defaulted" on. So trust me when I say that you'll get through it. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
Again, let me know what state your in and I'll do some digging.

Submarinesailor, thanks. This seems like a lot of craziness. We live in Kentucky. We looked up stuff about pdls in our state. They say that pdls can't last over 60 days and that you can't be charged more than $15 per $100. So if this is true, we definatly got screwed!

Yeah, you definitely got screwed. I wouldn't pay them another dime. I'd definitely close my checking account. Talk to your bank, tell them whats going on. I've heard some banks will let transactions go through if you close one account and reopen another at the same bank. Ask them if this is the case. If it is, I'd find another bank. Whatever you do, you have to get the account closed. Don't pay them any more. Don't be afraid. They'll call, try to scare you, etc etc. I'm sure you had to list references when you got the loans, I'd contact them and tell them they might be calling them. I know it might be hard to do that, but you have to. Things will go much smoother for you if you have family, friends on your side.
Kentucky prohibits criminal action against you if your check bounces, etc. So you're not going to go to jail for this.
If your accounts get sent to collection agencies, you will need to send them a debt validation letter. You can pm me or just about anyone else on here for a copy of that. The law says that a debt collector has to validate the debt they are claiming you owe. Once again, you can get some advice on here if/when it comes to that. Also, alot of people are concerned about thier credit reports. I guess it's a good idea to keep an eye on that also. You'll also read about getting these companies to consider your loan PIF (Paid in Full). Me personally, I'm not concerned about that part of it. I'll fight that battle if I need to.
You say you overpaid. Do you have documentation of everything? How much they gave you and how much you gave them? In the state of Washington, if you get a loan from an unlicensed lender, you don't have to pay them back a single dime. Other states, you have to pay them back, but only what the state says that can legally charge you. I'm not sure about Kentucky. But...if you have overpaid them, I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay them anymore. You're probably due a refund. I'm trying to get refunds myself. I'm not so sure how to do that, since I'm faily new in this process myself.
To sum this up, I'd talk to your bank (tomorrow), tell them whats going on, make sure if you change accounts they can't get at your money, change your account, I'd look into your state laws, I'd inform the company that you overpaid them and expect a refund. I'd also complain to your various state agencies (BBB, Kentucky Attorney General, Kentucky Office of Financial Institutions (actually, I'd call them, their number is (800) 223-2579).
If you get sent to collections, have the debt validated.
I know this is confusing. Sorry! These people really piss me off though, and when I get going on about them, its hard to stop. Please, continue to ask questions and seek help. There are a ton of people who have went through this or who are going through this and are more than willing to help! Keep us posted!

Subsailor is exactly right. These people piss me off too--but how can we channel that outrage?
What Doggsgirl also needs to do when these PDL's will threaten her (and they will) is demand that her accounts be marked Paid in Full or she will file an immediate claim with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office.
We also need to demand federal legislation banning PDL's.

Kscornell, the paid in full thing isn't as important to me as it is to others. Well, not really sure how to explain this. I guess stating my goals would be the best way to put it.
1. I am not going to pay another dime to any illegal payday loan company.
2. I want them to stop calling me, family, work, etc.
3. I want a refund of any amount that I overpaid.
4. I want them to be put out of business.
5. I do not want any negative credit marks, but if I receive them, I'm confident I can have them changed.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't want to pay in full, and I don't really care if the loan companies don't believe that I've paid in full. As long as I get 1-6 above, I'm happy.
Does that make sense?
No, didn't think so!
At least I know what I'm talking about!! hahahaha

Actually, number 1 above isn't a goal. It's a fact. There not getting another dime from me. I tried to work out a payment arrangement with them, even though I wasn't legally obligated to. They said no. Unfortunate for them to say the least.
