Ok, I have a sizeable amount of gambling losses through my bank account to an online sportsbook. Right now I could care less about the ethical issues but I am going to try to recoup the gambling losses (to help me pay off my legit debt) because they should have never been processed. How should I go about getting the charges reversed. They were completed with a debit card. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. I am trying to get my life in order (attending GA, etc) but know this can be accomplished.

Thanks in advance

You have to go into your bank and file a Debit Reversal with dispute. I was the Manager of a bank years ago and I had a customer that had numerous charges from a **** site, he was very embarrassed to come in and tell me what it was and ask for me to reverse the charges.

hey everyone, I'm in the same situation as poison with the gambling debt. This has taken place over the last 2 years off and on. I started out using credit cards and occasionally I would use my debit card. The charges aren't coded as sportsbook withdrawls but as Click4Temp Credit or Click2CALL Credits.

I was looking into settling this with debt consolidation but after reading about others with similar issues, I'm wondering if there's any way to get some of these charges reversed. It seems a lot of people were in debt to third parties like Neteller and others. Since most of these third parties were shut down, the sportsbooks started falsely coding these transactions. I owe the credit card companies themselves so I'm not sure if there's much I can do.

If I ever wanted to withdraw money they made me sign a statement listing all my previous deposits to them were authorized so not sure I can dispute those.

In the last couple months all the funds have come off my debit card and I haven't signed any statements with the sportsbook. Would I be able to dispute those?

Yes I have quit gambling, it's a lose-lose situation and I just want to put this mess behind me.
Any advice you can give would greatly be appreciated!

I had collection company contact me regarding gambling transactions I did not authorize or make--and now after research as far as I am familiar with and I may be wrong( but haven't heard otherwise)--if it is a U.S. gambling transaction that has been processed after unlawful internet gambling law went into effect-- if the transactions were actually processed-- the company you dealt with had to have coded them illegally and you need to request debt validation before paying anything if they send you transcript and purchases were actually coded as gambling---you may owe (but this will not happen) --if not they broke the law by coding them wrongly to get transaction to process--don't pay any of the gambling debts in my opinion--donate to a charitable cause if you later feel guilty--this is one debt you do not have to feel remorse or responsible for if you actually made purchases! The more people that don't pay will stop these companies from illegally processing transactions!!!

you need to ask a lawyer these questions because it is still a very gray matter from what I have learned--debt validation is required from anyone who is attempting to collect any owed debts --and if it is online gambling debt they will not be able to provide validation from what I have learned because they are processing illegal transactions and code them as other purchases such as clothing etc in order to get them processed--they break the law to take your money and when you don't pay they expect ca's with their rules and laws to help them collect--I was subject to very bad treatment from a ca attempting to collect online gambling fraud that I didn't make and they didn't follow any fdcpa rules--when you are talking about this kind of debt--threats and harassment is probably what gets them the money they want-(and I am sure they hire bad representatives to attempt collection on this illegal activity)--these off- shore companies who don't give a hoot about breaking laws to process transactions--also don't have a concern one! about validating transactions or if identity fraud is involved--if they process transactions illegally they obviously don't care about anything except that if they don't get paid they then turn it over to a CA company in America to collect for them on these illegal transactions and because they name different companies on your bank statement than gambling sight-- or say you have to pay processor who let's you spend money how you want--no no no! get debt validation! they can't provide it--but be very careful after the 180 day period--junk debt buyers might then be trying to contact!! I am not sure how far back you can go on your gambling purchases because I only had one incident of one weekend of fraud against my account --but when I checked into matter I learned that if you actually made transactions over a period of time --look into Cynthia Haines case etc--and by all means get a lawyer if what you owe is an amount more than what you can recover from fdcpa violations they always make when attempting to collect on illegal transactions
