Am i correct in think that my other debts, a few payday loans :? an the one credit card take presidence over my student loan repayments.

I mean obviously i can't just STOP paying the student loan, but should i concentrate on using an 'extra cash' on clearing the other problems.

Thanks in advance :)

Would you be able to defer you student loans due to finacial difficulty ( I highly advise to still Pay the monthly interest) for a short term period-like 6 months- that way you are not defaulting on the student loans, but would have some extra cash for the other debts. Also, maybe a part time job? I have done the deffered loan thing before, and it helped, but that was some time ago.

IF your student loans are private and in repayment, do not default on those. They will take action swiftly and will follow through to the end.

What kind of payday loans do you have? Internet or stores..

Who are they
How much and the amount you have paid
What state are you in

WIth this info, we can give you some insight on those.

Please listen to Volley and Beckysue, as the pdl stuff can probably be taken care of. The thing you don't want is for the student loan financer to start garnishing your wages. If it is a federally funded loan, and they are willing to do the deferrment, then great. But, as Volley said, if they are private, then make sure you take care of them. The others can wait, and probably be settled in some other way. :-)
