We encourage discussion and debate, but personal attacks and abusive posting will not be tolerated. Normally if this occurs the poster will find their post edited or deleted depending on how bad the wording is and a warning will follow. We are a huge forum with a lot of members here and we just ask everyone to please follow our basic rules so our board can remain a good peaceful environment where we can help each other out with our present financial problems.

I couldn't agree more. This is a place for people to come and relieve themselves of their financial pressures not to be made fun of and treated as though one was dumb. Everyone on here has wonderful advice to give and everyone should stick to those specific topics at hand at that particular time. Perhaps start a new thread if they would like to add a more personal note to their comments.

Thanks for posting the reminder, Cajun. I deleted some very nasty, inflammatory posts here last night and this morning.
We have no tolerance for that sort of thing here. It's not welcome and will be dealt with immediately.

ladybug, I couldn't have said it better.
No one here should have to be made to feel like their experiences or their opinions do not have value when attempting to help another person the best they know how.
Everyone here has value.

Thanks Cajun- you beat me to it!! I have been watching the Forums and the posts for a while, and began to get disturbed by what I saw on some posts.
Ther are some here that may have alot of knowledge in a particuliar area, or had an experience in it, and post. There are some, too, that are trying to learn, and trying to help, and need time and patience, not made to feel bad or wrong
I was blessed when I came here- the people here, before me,not only made me feel welcome, but that I too had something to offer to others-and boy were they patient with me and the questions I had!
We are all equals here, that's what keeps this Forum going. We have admin. to take care of the major problems, and mods to help keep it flowing!
I have had to delete alot of nasty stuff lately, and thought about editing some more!
We need to all work together to keep our "family" strong and growing..KAren :D

i totally agree because people come here for help and it's not helpful when some is putting you don or being mean just for your opinion. like my grandmother always says if you can't say anything good or helpful don't say anything at all.

I agree too & thanks. Sometimes is hard being new here & you get in trouble with others for asking questions!

I have to chime in here and say I've seen a lot of negativity here lately, and a few posts that were, if not outright mean, very strongly worded and probably made someone feel pretty badly about themselves, when all they came here for was help.
I know it's frustrating when someone asks for help on multiple threads, especially when you put in some serious time helping that person, only to find that they've asked for help in another post, and possibly received different or incorrect information there.
I think the solution to the problem is for Mods to continue doing their job by locking or deleting multiple posts that have no responses. I personally just deleted about 7 threads by the same guest who posted the same question in 8 different threads. Since only one of the threads had any responses, I simply deleted the others, so the user can simply go to ONE thread to find their answers.
If you see a user posting multiple (identical) threads and the info has already been posted in another thread, I would suggest that a Mod lock or delete the multiples, provided they have no responses.

I am not as concearned about the anon posters who come in here and post BS to make people feel worse than they already do about being in debt.
Yes it is a concearn but what I've been noticing is clique type activity ganging up on a person or a topic and making those in that post feel like their thoughts and opinions or experiences are worthless. It's not cool and it certainly wont win you brownie points with anyone else.

I totally agree and am so glad that people here are not judging others here who question others including moderators' opinions --you are such a diversified community that there are many topics that will arise which will subsequently bring about passionate responses and convictions but in the end we are all here simply to offer our own opinions and try to help others and to stand up against people who have been taken advantage of-- or treated wrongly from abusive collectors or collection agencies-if I hadn't felt that people were doing the right thing here I would have never returned to this sight after my first google search! and that is reason I keep returning!

I will be the first to admit in the past I have been brutal or mean on certain topics. It is something I work on a daily basis to avoid repeating that type of behavior. I am working hard to not let these abusive actions drive me down to their level.

I agree with what everyone has said! Like i was taught and i tell my kids, NO question is a stupid question! It's how we learn, by asking.
Cajun & Lawstudent would think i'm an idiot with ALL the questions i asked them when i first came here and continue to ask today!
No one should ever feel bad about wanting to learn and asking thier questions to do so! And lots of times when someone ask diff questions it makes others learn as well... each circumstance is diff and i've learned loads from some of these questions!
Thanks for everything all of u do here! It's greatly appreciated,

Since I have been here I have not seen anything but nice people here who are helpful in any way possible.I guess I was fortunate enough to miss any mean posts.I guess if anyone said something mean to me as my habit is , I would just disappear.

patricia I would hope that you would just disappear from the post or topic..not from the site!..sometimes people simply disagree or make mistakes in their posts..(I have done this myself).. and once in a while you see the troll posts that are just downright mean and disrespectful....and yet I keep coming back because you meet so many nice wonderful people here helping others that a negative once in a while is only a minor setback! The positives and good intentions on this site are obvious at first visit!
It's nice to hear the positives! :D Patricia, I'm glad that you
