does anyone consolidate debt for more than 6 years?i am a hardworking person who has had business difficulties due mainly to two years of hurricanes.i do not want to file bankruptcy, but need some relief and would like to spread my payments out over 8-10 years.help, please!

twinkle...off the top I am not sure anyone spreads it out quite that far...but I could be wrong. I think it depends on how much you owe. Since you are a registered member feel free to take advantage of the free consultation. I am sure they will be able to answer your questions and possibly connect you with someone in your area to help.

my counselor did mention that too. Once I pay off certain debts then the payment amount to them will go down, but if I want to keep paying the same amount that will shorten the plan.

TWINKLE...how much do you owe? What kinds of debt do you have? Those questions might help you find a way out. Call or apply for a consultation & someone will help you soon!
