I have been using Payday loans to get bye for about four+ years now. I am sick and tired of them. I have had one, ACE cash advance for 500.00 for the longest. The others I have had are with Money Tree and Check Into Cash. This month I just couldn't afford the rollover fee for any of them and had to let them all go. Worried of not having money for the month I stopped direct deposit. Well My bank account is now closed and I have overdraft fees up the wall. All of this is my own doing, however I try to get out of them and I just cant clear enough to pay all of them off.

So I contacted Check Into Cash and they were very rude and made it seem like I was a total piece of crap. I thought this was the place on the commercial that advertised help for people, not bashing a persons life to hell. I am afraid to contact ACE because the last time they contacted me at work and threated lawsuit and lawyers and that they were going to tell my boss on me. After I told them not to contact me at work they still did. And spoke to my boss. Well My immediate supervisor, my boss happens to be a sheriff. That ultimately turned to where I paid them and had to take it out again.

These places don't offer or say if a pay plan is an option. I offered Check Into Cash A payment of at least 200.00 of my loan and they said that if they dont get all the money by tomorrow they will go to to the DA's office.

So I am here seeking any information on the intimidation they are using and if there is any sort of help in getting out of this position...Please help, I am sick to my stomach and cant take anymore worry.

Sammy in Denver Colorado

Sammy, you have come to the right place we can help you here. You named the companies but could you tell us whether they are storefront or internet, how much you borrowed and the total of how much you have paid. I will go look for your state laws and post them for you and everyone else to read.

Sotrefronts are legal and usually operatie within the law and will take action to get their money back. Please read the attached thread on CFSA, Check Into Cash belongs to this and from what I have read, they have to work out a payment plan. If they do not, you can file with this comapny and they will mediate for you. Print off the info and go to Chek Into Cash and try to work out an arrangement.
www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/members-licensed.html

You need to contact ACE and work out a payment arrangement. Your best bet is to go there in person and speak to a store manager or district manager.

First off, it's going to be OK. And don't worry about feeling like a piece of crap--because we've ALL been there and know exactly how you feel. My advice is:
Don't let them make you feel like this, because you're NOT a piece of crap, just someone who made a mistake like I did and everyone else did here by thinking that getting a PDL was a good idea. Good people do make bad choices. I know, I did it too.
Now if Check into Cash is in the CFSA, what they have to do is give you the opportunity to make 4 equal payments on your loan. They should have the information posted in their stores and will make you sign papers for it--but do it. I have done it and it's ok.

Maldo, you'll get through it. Definitely look in CFSA. They have a program called the CFSA Extended Payment Plan. CheckIntoCash and MoneyTree are members, and they should offer you the CFSA plan. I would call the Money Tree and try to work out a plan. They have been nothing but helpful with me. If they don't offer you the plan, I'd contact the CFSA and complain. I'd let those stores know that you will be contacting the CFSA for help.

Whatever you do, don't give up. I almost gave up, in a permanent way. I came to the realization that it's only money, it doesn't control my life, and if I can't pay, I can't pay. Since that day, my life has been 10 times better. Also, you have to talk to people (good start here). Family, friends, boss, etc, let them know whats going on. You need all the support you can get. I know it might be embarassing, but keeping this to yourself will only make things worse. Trust me man. I'm in the Navy, it was the hardest thing I've ever done talking to my chain of command. But it was also the best thing I've ever done.

Good luck to you!!

Sammy...I had the same problem and more IPDL's than you. ChecknGo was a storefront pdl I had to deal with they broke-up my loan into 5 separate payments and I pay a set amount each payday. No interest added and no other fees. So I am sure if ChecknGo can do this so can CheckintoCash...they are both located here in Indiana too.

Hi Laura, I'm a native Hoosier (Muncie). I live in Seattle now. CheckNgo won't do a damn thing for me. Well, actually, I was on a payment plan, but couldn't make those payments. I asked for help, and they said no way in hell. I haven't heard a word from them since the loan defaulted (I closed my checking account, but was told to do so by the Navy). Their collections told me though that she would work with me once it gets on her desk, but not to tell the storefront, district manager, etc. Who knows whats gonna happen. The worst that can happen is they take me to court and I show the judge my budget, plan, etc from the Navy counselors, etc and see what he says. I'm not worried about it at all. If I go to court, I get a day off from work! Hahaha.

Hey sub...I live about 20 miles east of Indy...that is where the ChecknGo is located that I deal with...at first...when I told them that I could not pay back the two hundred I borrowed the girl there told me they would have to send my check through and if it came back I would have to pay the check and additional fees. After the manager came in he sat down with me and told me there was a program they could do and that is what I got. But he said this was a one time thing and could not be repeated also I would not be allowed to take out another loan. So what's so bad about that!!!I suppose it just depends on who you deal with...anyway I like your attitude..I feel the same about the court thing and when it comes to IPDL's here in Indiana I don't believe they have a leg to stand on! Good Luck to you too!

20 miles east of Indy? Hmmm, that would be south of Muncie, trying to think where though?

I think the program they offered you was the CFSA EPP. Not really sure, but probably what it is. I was on that plan with checkngo when it defaulted. Oh well. They'll get their money eventually. I haven't heard anything from them (loan was due on the 1st) so maybe I'm in the calm before the storm phase? I absolutely refuse to let this control my life Laura. For about 8 months my life was a living hell. And nobody knew it but me. I was at the lowest I've ever been in my life. I finally decided to hell with this, get help, get this out in the open and let come what may. I'm telling you girl, it was the best decision I've ever made. I used to dread paydays! Hahaha. Can you believe that? Who the hell dreads getting a paycheck? Crazy huh?
I like your attitude also. "Sorry, you can't get another loan". That sucks! NOT!!
Take care Laura and see you next time!

Yes I did get the pm thanks so much Roxy. I am going in person to these places and am going to make an attempt to organize a payment plan.

lol @ everyone calling me by both Sammy and Maldo. I like Sammy it makes me feel that good friends are helping me out.

Today I was so worried at work that they were going to call. I got with close friends at work and told them about my situation in case anyone had called. I am so embarrassed. The main thing is that I am a cop working in a booking unit where there are people being booked into jail and I dont need the added stress of these places calling me and having to deal with a drunk, combative or uncooperative person while booking them in.

I got so much going on already and this on top of it and sometimes I feel that being a cop I can not afford to have these worries. But I cant even afford that kind of pride. Surely I am learning that pride isn't everything and when it comes to my life, health and children they are whats important.

Sammy, Everyone here has been where you are and we are here to support you. If you keep open lines of communication and give them an avenue to contact you, more than likely they will not contact you at work. If you do not communicate with them they will call you wherever they can find you and will even call your references. We all make decisions which at the time are necessary and soemtimes later..pay for them and yes it stinks to have to swallow your pride. It is difficult to deal with the situations you do on a daily basis and pile this on top of it all. It will take some work and some talking to the pdl companies but you will get through this. If you need anything else let us know. Good Luck and keep us posted if you need to. Roxy
