I settled with one collection agency and I paid the money today.

But from last week, the other collection agency calls me everyday.
The number from them is 832-615-2100, and they left voice messages call back this number, 800-334-6497. They also told me this is very very very important.

I didn't answer it yet because I didn't know this number and they were looking for Mrs. OOO.
Mrs. OOO is my wife but she doesn't have any account at all, her phone number they called knows only my family and never used for public.

Can the other collection agency call me while I am dealing with one collection agency?

What do I have to do now?
Do I need to call them back? or
I need to send debt validation letter? (But I don't know their address.)

Is this account with 2 CA's? If so then who REALLY owns the account. I would be very careful that you do not pay the wrong CA. Because you can send money to one and then they are not the ones that own the account anymore and then the other CA will still try and collect on the same account. Make sure you get a PIF letter from the one you are paying now. That should keep you from having to pay the same account again to the 2nd CA.

With the phone number that they called, was it given for anything else, is it a private number/unlisted? If not then it probable shows up on your credit report. Or they bought the number. I have found out that if someone pays like $20 on the internet they can get my cell phone number. Which is the only phone I have. It's kind of scary how they can get that info on you by just typing in your name in the right website and paying $$$$.

Apparently the company who keeps calling you is Pentagroup Financial, LLC, in Houston TX. I got that from whocalledus.com which is a very good site to see who is calling. i learned from experience that my CA has multiple numbers across the country and will call whichever way they think they can get a hold of you or a member of your family.
You said you already paid money, did you pay money to this company? If so, they need to back off. if not then you should definitely fire off a DV letter. This
Pentagon Financial collects off 'zombie' debts and will call just about anyone they can to collect money. I got all this according to the website.
When I googled your other 800 number it did not match anything. I'm interested to see if this collection company is the one you paid, butterfly. sorry this is happening. the important thing to find out is who does own your debt.

they did the same thing to us today, called left a message. we called back. They said that we owed a debt. I told them that I had been trying for years to get the company to send me the paperwork pertaining to the debt with signatures because I believed the debt to have been opened by someone else. The collector told me he did not believe me and that I owed $7,265 and did I have intentions of paying. I told him NO not until I had paperwork in hand so I can see who took this debt out in my name. He hung up on me. What kind of company does this? He threatened to garnish my wages and take me to court. I did make payments on this debt about 2 years ago in hopes of resolving this but when the company would not send me the documents I told them I would not send anymore payments. ugh

mthompson81, when was the first time they called? They have 5 days to send a dunning letter. By the Fair debit collection practices act, you can dispute it with the collection agencies.

Next time they call remind them they have 5 days to send you something in writing. If they say they don't have to.. chances are they're an illegal collection agency. Try and get a fax/address and send off a DV/C&D letter,CMRR

If it has been 2 years since you made a payment, what state do you live in? It might be close to being time barred if you are in a good state.

Also I do not recommend sending a debt validation letter at the same time as a cease and desist letter. Even if you put a limited cease and desist they treat it a a full order and you are more likely to get sued. With the debt validation letter alone, they cannot contact you unless they can validate it anyway.
