Hello, this is my first entry into this forum site, I currently have 6 internet payday loans and 1 store front payday loan in the state of Missouri, they are as follows :

payday ok : 500.00 Hve 340.00 remain
Upfront : 400.00 fees : 120.00
tremont financial : 250.00 hve 175.00 remain
Cashtoday4u : 225.00 paid 350.00 fees so far
Check city : 400.00 remain from 500.00
Missouri title loans : 850.00 paying 200.00 mnthly with no downsizing of balance
national cash : 250.00 fees : 76.00

I have opened up a new checking account w/ another bank completely, I need to know how to inform these companies that I need to set up something with them. I have so learned my lesson and hope that this will never happen again, I am scared that my husband will find out and need to do something asap..Thanks

Good! I just wanted to make sure you didn't leave anyone out! I guess it's just time to sit back and wait and pray to goodness someone gets a response from them! Keep us posted!

Dee, Did you actually go in and talk to the branch manager. They should be able to do it for you. A stop will not really work. when the PDL sees that a stop was put on they will either change the amount or use a different name. Also if they see that you put a stop on the original ach they will debit the full amount that they think you owe.
Cannr , any suggestions for Dee.
Dee I am going to get Cannr, she is great at this stuff

I've heard good and bad stories regarding Bank of America. There is no reason they can't put a total hard debit block on the account. You need to tell them that this is an illegal company doing unauthorized debits on your account. You can not just put a "stop payment" on them. They will not use their name. They will use another name. They will change the amount of the debit. They will change the dates of the debit. They will try to hit your account every day, six times a day, etc. A stop payment is not going to work. Did you go into the branch that you opened the account? You need to go to the branch where you opened the account, speak only to the branch manager (not a teller) and explain the situation. They probably don't realize how sneaky illegal companies are. They need to know that this company will change names, change debit amounts, and change dates. Also, an ACH debit block alone may not work. Many pdl, once they figure out they can not debit via ACH, will put through an electronic check. Your account needs to have a hard debit block on it so that NOTHING goes through.

Unbelievable, I did go see the branch manager and his response was they could not put an ach hold on my account unless it was fraud. I gave him a short background that there is unauthorized ach debits on my account, he stated that if they have my acct info than apparently I initially auth debits. any suggestions now ? I guess the next step would be to fax each company a revoke to debit ach letter ? oh, and I received an email from the FTC and they are also investigating

I honestly can't tell you what is right, but on one of mine I could and went in and deleted my work number and my references phone numbers. Now whether that was right or not I don't know. Unfortunately that was one that I was able to set up payment arrangements with so they aren't harrassing me.

yeah, now if I can just get those butts at the bank to cooperate, oh well, I do know that the other account that I opened (with a totally new bank ) by the way, not telling...is almost ready to go, all I need to do now is go to the branch and get my acct info so that I can get my direct deposit setup at the new bank

Here we never advocate any type of advertisment at all...so that would be a cluse...also no one can correct your credit score for you any differently than you can do yourself. And it's better and safer to do yourself than to ever give that info out to someone you don't know. All these places that offer to fix your credit rating/score for money are totally bogus!!!!

The problem is someone sent her this information in a quick message. The message itself is questionable, but the alert that she had a quick message is not. She is thinking the alert itself is questionable. Deean, you need to go to your homepage and delete the information from there.

deeann, I would also really suggest visiting a different Bank of America branch.

My account was in the positive prior to closing my account, so the in-branch customer service representative and I accounted for anything that was pending, left only the amount that was pending in the account and once those things cleared overnight Tuesday, the account automatically closed because it was at $0. Today was the default day and if the account didn't remain closed with their attempted ACHs today, the account would have shown up in my online banking, so I have to assume that it will be ok.

Like you, I was told on the phone by a representative that it was impossible to put a hard block on the account. Obviously, they were wrong.

Try a different branch, this time, emphasizing that these illegal companies are fraudulently attempting to take money out of your account and that you need the account frozen and closed as soon as possible, because it's the truth! An e-signature can be contested and these companies are illegal!

deeann, you need to either pm Mike or send him an email asking him to look at your home page. Mike can fix it to where you are able to delete messages off of it. :D

deeann:

According to what kashzan posted at the beginning of the thread, criminal action is prohibited in regards to payday loans. Yes, they will probably start calling and bothering you when they try to get the funds from the account, but you're not going to jail or anything silly like that. :)

dee, I just read through the posts. You have only the one storefront pdl, correct? And you did contact them regarding making payments, correct? Are they going to "hold" the check there until it's paid in full and then give you the check back? If they turn it in to the bank and it is returned due to closed account, then they can probably do "something" since it's stated on the law. Just be sure the storefront holds that check and does not turn it in to the bank.

cannr, as far as the store front company, it is a title loan company, i don't remember if they have a check that they are holding, I normally take a money order once a month to them, they don't accept checks as payment. I have to pay them or they take my precious 163xxx mile mini van (hey, maybe that's not a bad idea) oh well, the kids would miss it. Actually ever since I got hooked up with this forum and thank God developed a back bone, I did some soul searching and decided I have paid them enough over the last 22 months @ 200.00 per month for a $1000.00 loan and have now sent complaints to BBB and MO AG ( let me at 'em )

dee, you should be fine then. I was thinking you had a check out at a storefront and they might turn it in. If it's a title company that you're dealing with, they won't have a check from you. You're paying with money orders. God love them. They're bloodsuckers, too. They used to have title loans in my state (not too long ago) but they decided to make them illegal. No more here. Now... if they would close the pdl places!

If all you have are the internet pdls, close it. You have been assured it won't be forced back open if you close it, right? You have no outstanding checks out? If you have no outstanding checks out with that account, close it. Just be sure it won't be forced back open due to pending pdl debits.
