Mr. Johnson kept calling me after I told him to stop calling here and keeping me from my job. He ended up calling my place of employment again and this time I had him talk to my supervisor. She told him to never call here again!
THIS IS THE EMAIL.....

Just had to pass this along.....
This is the response I got from Route66 today....tell me what you think?
Dear Ms. *****
I am responding to your complaint received on October 17, 2007.
My name is David from the Customer Solutions Department at Route 66 Funding. The Customer Solutions Department endeavors to resolve customer issues and come to a solution suitable to both parties.
Firstly, we would like to apologize for the calls made at your place of employment and for the unnecessarily rude behavior of our representatives, so to overcome this, we have now restricted access to your work number, so you will not be inconvenienced. Secondly, as requested by you to revoke debits through your checking account, we will not debit your bank account any further.
Having reviewed our files, I can confirm the following. Our records show that you took a short term loan for $150 on August 04, 2006. This loan was transacted between you and Route 66 Funding, which is an offshore, non-U.S., based entity. According to the terms agreed to by you, the Agreement and any disputes arising there under were to be governed by English law. The contract was a verbal one and neither party was required to submit any documentation of the Agreement to the other.
According to the terms and conditions, which were made clear and agreed by you when you took the loan, for each pay day a payment was due to us, you had the option to either extend the loan by paying only the extension fee or, if you wanted to close the loan, you could pay the current extension fee together with the outstanding principal loan amount ($150).
At present the outstanding balance of your loan comprises of the total missed extension fees and the principle amount borrowed.
However, notwithstanding this, upon a review of your file, and as we remain committed to resolving the matter amicably with you, as we are with all our customers. I am authorized to offer you a discounted amount of only $100 as a goodwill gesture, towards which we will waive all incurred fees and charges on the loan and also close your loan account with us. Furthermore, that amount can be paid either via money order or money gram and the payment can also be paid in installments.
Should you require anything further from us at this time, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours,
David Michaels

tweety, these guys also wanted to 'settle' with me for another $100 via moneygram to them. I had also overpaid the loan. I had overpaid approximately $100 and they wanted another $100 to "close" it - and by moneygram! No way. I told them I had already overpaid and wasn't going to give them MORE money on top of it. Yes, they still haunt me. But I'll be damned if I give them another $100 on top of the $100 I overpaid past the principle. To an illegal company at that! You do what you feel is best. I just wanted to let you know that apparently this is their 'standard way' of "resolving" accounts. Ask for another hundred bucks. Amazing.

I understand what you're saying, tweety. And thank you for sharing. I know I'm always interested in the various ways pdls offer settlements. This one seems to be the "norm" for them in regards to accounts that have been overpaid. Send another $100. It kills me! However, they will not take money orders. Did they say they would take money orders from you? They have only been known (and they did it to me) to say moneygram/western union.

They kill me with the moneygram and western union thing, too. Like it is going to kill them to have to wait 5 days for a money order to reach them. They're probably scared to give their physical location because angry pdl customers might come and tear their place down!!! (I think I would be first in line! )

Whoa, tweety! I must have passed right over that! Holy cow! They must LIKE you! I haven't seen any other offer with them accepting money orders and the fact that you can pay the $100 in payments! Did you cast a magic spell over them or what? This has to be a first! So, what do you think about it all?

tweety, are you going to pay them the $100 even though you stated that you already overpaid? I totally understand if you are, just to get them off your back. Totally understand. I'm just wondering. My, they use many names, don't they? Actually, I thought they stopped using "Route 66" some time ago. This is the address for BIG and Cash Today. Same pattern of asking for $100 on an overpaid account; however, changed regarding the payment options. Huh. This is kind of interesting. Tweety, good for you. At least they will not hound you forever, even though they are getting more money than you borrowed. But you will be rid of them. Please be sure that they send you something in writing once you pay them that your account is PIF and that they will no longer contact you regarding this matter. Good job. I'm very surprised.
