I have two store front PDL and I am just wondering what the laws are in Iowa

So I have two store front PDL and Two Online PDL and I live in Iowa. I have closed my checking acct and got my bills caught back up and now its time to take care of these issues of the PDL.

I truly want to pay these back before my credit score gets ruined anymore. By anymore I mean, I am 25 and already filed bankruptcy at 24 with all kinds of credit card debt and never learned I guess. Here I am in a mess again.

Store Front-
Check N Go $500
Check into Cash $246-This store manager even contacted me by myspace now that is just very unprofessional if you ask me.

Online
Check N Go Online $1200 I probably paid 4 payments of 236 dollars. Which is almost as much as the loan itself :( and currently working with a some kind of collection agency that would not take anything less then what I owe. So currently am paying $60 dollars every two weeks for however long. This guy said he couldn't do anything unless I could come up with a lump sum and that was only 20%.

Cash Doctors-$217.50 and have refinanced that loan a lot of times

I am horrible for not keeping all these records and now I am paying for it cause I know I have paid these online people WAY WAY to much.

So do you suggest that I contact the storefront managers and try to get payment plans? Or any suggestions would be great.

Looks like Check n Go storefront (not the on line one) and Check Into Cash are members of the CFSA. You can request an EPP, which means you can make payments in four equal payments to pay the checks off. You have to go to the storefronts the day BEFORE the loan is due to request EPP. They will then have you sign an amendment to your loan agreement reflecting the new payment schedule. Is your Check n Go on line one an "installment" type loan? Cash Doctors. Haven't heard of them. You really need to see how much you've paid these guys. 217.50? That's an odd amount. Is that what they're saying you owe? Or is that what you borrowed?

Well both of the Storefront ones were due a LONG TIME ago. I think I closed my bank acct in may and haven't really heard much from there except the myspace message from the manager of the check into cash and one letter from Check N Go. The check N go online one is an installment loan. I went to the cashdoctors.com and looked up my loan status and it says balance due 217.50 and I got the loan in May.

So your storefronts have only contacted you once? And one was via MySpace? Good Lord! What did they tell you? That you need to pay? Or that they're going to take action?

Yeah that I needed to pay them and that they would make payment arrangements then, but that was 5 months ago I am hoping they will still do such. So I should contact them both and tell them I just want to make payment arrangements. I will have to do it one at a time maybe the lesser of the two first.

I'm actually surprised they've gone this long without contacting you any further! Very surprised! Since they are storefront and have a check from you, I would call them and set up some sort of payment arrangment. It's just really odd that they've gone this long without hounding you to absolute death. Whatever you do, if they do agree to payments, don't promise more than you can actually afford. You don't want to be broke while paying them off. Tell them only what you can honestly pay and stick with it. Don't overextend yourself. That would bite.

I stopped at Check N Go yesterday to ask for a payment plan and they would not do a payment plan unless they send my checks through and it comes back Insufficient Funds. Then they said I will have to pay them $250 one week and $250 on my next payday.

If your account is not past due and you have not already used your EPP in the last 12 months, the are required as a CFSA member (founding member at that!!) to offer the EPP. I would contact the Corp Office and/or CFSA to report the manager.

OTOH, I know that they recently were depositing checks at the end of the day they were due. This was an automatic process based on what a manager explained to me.
