SPAM ALERT

I was just about to post something like this. I've deleted about 10 or so in my forums too... but I see some left in the ones I don't mod.

Yeah- me too. If you see some in the Forums you don't mod in-go to the Pub and click on the Report Spam and someone will see it!! This is getting old- and I have to get off soon!!..karen

Make that now about 20 I've X'd. Luckily most of them are in one of my forums.

HaHa the spammer made one up that said "abuse spam report." DENIED!

I feel like Lucy/I Love Lucy when she was doing the chocolate assembly line...
At first it's going slow and I can keep up with them. Then it speeds up and the spam it coming in quicker than I can delete.

It's like a video game...

Bossy started X-ing these at 6:09 PM. Here it is 7:09PM and I have been doing nothing but deleting spam for the last hour.

I've gotten so quick I can hit "X" before the page even loads the picture of the X that I'm supposed to click on.

I'm moving up to level 2 now, and still have all my lives left.

They are back on the debt consolidation board! Pandas and basketball!

They are all over. Every post that has crazy initials is a blank post

An hour and a half and it won't stop ... I went to the bathroom to pee and when I came back there was about 15 posts. I forgot to press pause, and almost lost a life over that one.

Sorry guys, I can't hold the fort down any longer... It's Saturday night and I've got places to be. All in all, in the last 1.75 hrs I've probably deleted about 200+ spams.

Hope Mike doesn't come back from his trip and find that spam has taken the site over ...

Just please don't reply to the spam; leave it alone and a mod will come by to delete it.

OK so I went out to my car to get some things, came back and there was like 30 spams. DELETED. Now I'm officially gone for the night. Hasta manana

Just removed 66 more spams. I'm addicted, what a way to spend a Saturday.

I just deleted a ton from debt consolidation and Settlement and they keep coming.

Yeah Sass, this has been going on since 6:09 PM (Central), and doesn't let up at all. I was here for 3 hours battling it, then I gave up

I've been battling it for about 3 hours too now . . . . I think I'm going to throw in the towel too and go to sleep. I probably deleted about 400 of those things . . . . And it just keeps on coming . . . . .

Another wild day with spam!! Mods keep checking!! If anyone mods in the Student Loan or Getting a loan forums, alot of us don't mod there and there is spam there.

Is there anyway to tell if it's from the same IP address??

My WORD is that a mad spammer! Is it the same person or a group?

Mike will be able to tell if it's from the same address. I'm not sure if it's one or many-I know at least some of them are from the same IP addy..karen

I was on here until after midnight PST deleting spam . . . . If it started at 6pm CST, then that like 8 hours straight of spam!

I'm surprised that it isn't worse. I belong to a couple of other forums, and the spam became really severe.

I think it was a bot/program of some sort that was able to create new user ID's and then make posts with that user. In a way, by deleting the spam we might have been deleting evidence where it came from ??? But I'm sure there are system logs that Mike can go look at.

Maybe Mike can tally up a high score and tell us how much spam we all deleted :)

good luck guys! had a virus take over my comp in past couple days--thought it was because I had been on this sight but got it removed and all is up and running again!

Thanks for the wonderful piece of work you guys have done. I was shocked to see the system logs at the first time. Their had been regular influx of spams through their automated software during the weekend. When I logged in the morning today, I found almost all were deleted and taken care of very nicely. I really appreciate the good work and managing everything so nicely.

The pattern used by the spammers this time is very tough to stop. They are not using a particular IP this time. I will have to do some coding after studying the pattern very thoroughly. I want you all to have a peaceful stay on the board and the way these spammers have caused nuisance, I want to stop it. I will try my best and keep you updated.

Again, thank you everyone for being such a valuable part. It's the support that matters the most.

I think the way everyone moved quickly on this problem proves that everyone here is a comitted family member :lol: . Although sometimes we all don't agree on everything :? , we all agree on one thing and that is to get rid of that junk those spammers are trying to shove down our throats and stick together.

I just want to thank everyone who was hauling ass deleting this stuff. It was like being bomed! Thank each and every one of you for your hard work and extra effort and the hours you spent cleaning this mess up. It was never-ending. Thank you! :D
