I was watching Forest Gump (ofcourse again) and the scene that I wanted to share is:

Some Scene
Forrest Gump: What's my destiny, Mama?
Mrs. Gump: You're gonna have to figure that out for yourself.

One of the last Scenes:
Forrest Gump: You died on a Saturday morning. And I had you placed here under our tree. And I had that house of your father's bulldozed to the ground. Momma always said dyin' was a part of life. I sure wish it wasn't. Little Forrest, he's doing just fine. About to start school again soon. I make his breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. I make sure he combs his hair and brushes his teeth every day. Teaching him how to play ping-pong. He's really good. We fish a lot. And every night, we read a book. He's so smart, Jenny. You'd be so proud of him. I am. He, uh, wrote a letter, and he says I can't read it. I'm not supposed to, so I'll just leave it here for you. Jenny, I don't know if Momma was right or if, if it's Lieutenant Dan. I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time. I miss you, Jenny. If there's anything you need, I won't be far away.

Do we all have a destiny?

One of my all time fav movies!
I believe in destiny... I think when people enter our lives it's for a reason although we may not understand what the reason is at the time. Looking back can usually help u figure it out.. Also, i do NOT believe in co-incidences, i believe things happen for a reason...
Very good question and i can't wait to read what others have to say on the subject.

YES,I BELIEVE IN DESTINY.
I THINK DESTINY IS DESTINY AND I BELIEVE EVERYBODY
IN THIS WORLD HAVE A DESTINY.
I THINK ALL THE ANIMAL AND LIVING THINGS HAVE A DESTINY.
I BELIEVE LIFE WITHOUT DESTINY DID NOT NOT EXISTS.
GOD JESUS CHRIST GAVE US THE BEST EXAMPLE OF DESTINY WHEN HE CAME TO THIS WORLD TO LOVE US,FORGIVE US AND DIE FOR US.

I got chills reading the Forrest Gump post. One of my favorite movies also, but I can't watch it a whole lot because I find it making me sob every time! Destiny - fate considered as a power/that which happens to a person or thing, thought of as determined in advance by fate. Fate - a power thought to control all events and impossible to resist/a person's destiny. I don't know if it's destiny or fate. I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I know I've gone through a lot, as others have. And I've learned so much and grown so much. My way of thinking is different. My way of living is different. My attitude is different. Now, if the things that happened to me DIDN'T happen, then I would be a totally different person than what I am today. Some of the things weren't "good" things that happened, but I learned from them. So, honestly, I can't say if I could say "destiny" or "fate" has a way in my particular life; however, I do think that all things happen for a reason. Look at where you would be if certain things didn't happen. You might be a totally different person. Personally, I'm glad these things happened. Good and bad. Without going into all the details (yuck), I wouldn't be where I am now if all the crap that happened didn't happen. Make sense???

But, pyb, everything happens for a reason. Now you realize what you put your parents through (and we all did it). Now you'll understand when your kids act the same way. So, see? Everything happens for a reason.

With lots of prayer and maybe some luck they've all turned out to be awesome young adults!

I truly believe in destiny - everything happens for a reason. I just had this discussion with my daughter & her boyfriend (who recently moved in with me rather suddenly). I told them I think everything happens for a reason - even them leaving the state they were living in to come visit me, and then ending up not returning, but leaving everything unfinished down there.

I think of us as more having a purpose that a destiny. The key is to understand that purpose and use the skills and talents given to you to achieve that purpose. It may be a while before your purpose is understood - just be ready to move when asked. Your purpose may be something you never think you can accomplish, or is outside of your comfort zone. But if you make that effort, you will succeed.

And for those that question if their purpose is worthwhile, remember the most important purpose ever was to be a mother.

Hi Vikas

I do agree with you....some moments are precious :)Recently I saw A walk to remember( ohhhh my gawwwd waat a movie freak I'm :D)and truly it reaffirmed my belief that IF YOU DONT HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF THEN YOU STAND NOWHERE. I believe that love and faith are the requisites that can make one's life worth living.

Take care
