About 4m ago I had 2 $30 debits from Check Recovere in my account... I disputed them and the charges were reversed.

Just yesterday I saw 2 monre $30 debtis from Check Recovere... Because this has happened 2x the bank told me to change my account so I will be doing that today...

Anyone ever hear of Check Recovere??? I have no idea who these people are or why they are debiting my account...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
I am currently dealing with three different pdl companies. I have made payment arrangements with two of them but the third is still sending me threatening emails. I've just learned from reading this board that this is illegal! I have also found that they may be debiting my checking account illegally. It seems that they are using two different names to debit my account. One is DMS Marketing and the other is Check Recovere out of Kansas City MO. I'm sure more information is needed, but can anyone advise me on how to handle this?
Thanks

I found this on an old post. It may help you figure out what is going on

I think I have taken care of any and all bounced checks but maybe I missed one...

Should I still close my account? I have no idea who they are but if they are legit can they do anything to me for changing my account?

The bank suggested that I cange my account which I plan on doing this afternoon....

I have read the information provided that states I should get another account at another bank...

WaMu has assured me that this will stop them from debiting account. They will not be able to force open the old account or in any way link to the new account... DO you think I should trust them or still open an account elsewhere?

Thanks Frogpatch... They were VERY cooperative... They are closing the account and NOTHING will go through.

They suggested opening 2 accounts. 1 for personal stuff and 1 for online stuff. That way if this EVER happens again I will still have an available account to use.

They are also having me give them a list of pending transations/checks on the ols account that need to be processed... They will then manually process them in the new account.

Wamu, will not let you close an account while overdrawn. I doubt that any bank will. WAMU also will not let you pay your overdraft off in installments. They want it all .If after 45 days the account is still overdrawn They will "close the account with cause", meaning that the account has been abused. It is at that point that they will send you to chex system. I actually had to borrow the money from a friend to bring my account current so I could close it. Otherwise I would have been hit for tons more fees.

I had that on my bank statement also. ANd with the list of payday loans you have It has to be from the loan shop. I had one from there also. But only after I defaulted did it show up that way on my statement. But they didn't get their money anyway because the account was already closed. But they tried several times. I didn't get any extrta NSF fees because I told the bank about what was going on and they closed it for me and yes I was overdrawn when they did it. But I also live in a small town so the "everybody knows your name" thing came into play. I think if I would have been in a bigger town the bank would not have done that.

Check Recovery is tied into Geneva Roth. Geneva Roth took a debit out of my account, which I disputed and my bank refunded. A few days later, I had a debit for the same amount taken out by Check Recovery.

Try to put a hold on debits to your account and close it. Geneva Roth and any of its subsidiaries will try to take money out of your account as long as they can.

Good luck!

UPDATE - I have closed my account and opened a new one... SO far so good. They have refund most of the money that Loan Shop took out because I found a cease and desist order showing that they were not allowed to operate in california.. They have refunded Check Recovere because I never authorized them to debit my account, and they are still researching money that went to Cash in a Wink.

If nothing else Cash in a Wink and Loan Shop will no longer be able to debit my account the $280 in fees.
