I currently have 7 internet payday loans. The fees are killing me!

Loan Shop $300 - paid $450 fees
SJM Marketing $300 - paid $450 fees
United Cash Loans $300 - paid $450 fees plus $50 xtra for principal - now owe $250
TJF Corp - $300 - paid $180 fees
Arrowhead - $300 - paid $90 fees
ECash - $300 - paid $90 fees
CMG Group - $250 paid $75 fees

Can someone please help me figure out what to do? I cant keep going like this. They took $615 out of check this past friday in fees alone! OUCH!

deann, there will be good and bad days. Just keep your chin up and post on here if you need to. we all know what you are going through. I know it took several weeks before the phone calls started for me and sometimes it seems as if I am rolling a boulder uphill. Aminah, that is good thinking. I read everything I could on here and other people's experiences helped me so much in some cases atleast I would know what to expect. The unknown is very hard for me to deal with. Both of you hang in there. It may take some work but as your "sking gets thicker" (to use Volley's terms) it does get easier and believe it or not at times it can be downright funny how stupid these people are.

Hi, What kind of letters did you send to them?? Can you send me a sample. Please don't let it get you down. My husband almost committed suicide over this because he thought the life insurance would pay all these debts off. It is not worth it!! You are a strong person I can see by your postings. Keep your chin up I refuse to let them get to me any further and ruin my life.

dee, you ALWAYS come here and post. You can tell us anything. That goes for EVERYONE. We have all been/still are in the same exact situation. Dee, if these "settlements" and "payment plans" are unreasonable, then by all means, tell them they are unreasonable. If it's the illegal ones hassling you, just save the emails you receive from them. Save everything. The illegal ones are WAY on the "back burner". The legal ones, yes, you're going to have to work with them; however, if it is beyond your means to make these payments, then tell them. Your "real" bills come first. I just finished figuring out what to pay out of tomorrows paycheck and I'll have $60 left. But I'll be damned, it's all going to "real" bills. The others are going to have to wait. And, belle, (my we have a lot of people on this thread!) your husband should NEVER get this down. Although, I completely understand. I do so remember those days of saying "What's the point." And here I am! Still here! Belle, do you need a letter to send to your pdls? We do have a good letter to use as a guideline that we can pm to you. You can use it and just change it/tailor it to fit your specific pdls, laws, dollar amounts, etc. We are all here to help all of you. We will get through this. I promise.

Okay, underneath my post you will see two little "buttons". One has two people on it and says "pm". Click on that. It will pop up and you can send a message directly to me. Click on that under my post, send me a message just saying "hey" or "test" or whatever. I will then reply to you. For you to get your pm messages, you will see on the side of your screen "You have 1 message" or however many messages. click on that. My message will be there. Click on it and you can read it. Try this. Once we know we can communicate, I can send you the letter through pm. Go ahead and give it a shot. I'll see if I get a message. :D

Nothing. Let me try to send you one. I'll send one now. Check over where it says "You have X messages" in just a minute to see if you have a message. If it says you have 1 message, click. It should bring up my message. Hang on.

All internet loans are not illegal in Ohio. Internet based companies can be licensed by the DFI, and can be lending legally. They do not have to be check cashers. I saw that posted in the thread previously and just wanted to correct that. They do not have to have a physical location in OH to get an OH license. The law is a bit misleading. :D

Deanna - Tremont is notorious for doing a wage assignment, and they have also tried to take several people to court over the illegal debt. They try VERY hard to collect. Make sure you've revoked the wage assignment, and be ready for anything they try to throw your way.

I have an ipdl with United Cash Loans. I just found a letter they sent me. What does this mean?

Governing Law: By obtaining this loan and or renewal of this loan thereafter, both parties agree that this Note and your account shall be governed by all applicable federal laws and all laws of the jurisdiction in which the Lender is located, regardless of which state you may reside, and you consent to the exclusive exercise of regulatory and adjudicatory authority by the jurisdiction in which the Lender is located over all matters related to this Note and your account, forsaking any other jurisdiction which either party may claim by virtue of residency.

Does this mean they are legal?

No, they all put that in their contracts. It's called a "Choice of Law" contract.

Thing is, it doesn't always stand up in court. Sometimes, yes it would stand up, but most of the time no. See, you can't just pick and chose who's laws you want to follow. You can't tell a cop, well, in this state it's legal and I'm following the laws of this state. No, it's the state you are in that's laws must be followed. But it's not black and white. There are a lot of gray areas . . . .

thank you goudah. i just got my checking account put on credit only status. the bank rep said that the only way a debit/check will come through is if they manually post it with my permission.

she is opening me a brand new checking account so my paycheck can go in there.

I just picked up my new starter checks and signed all the necessary paperwork to put my acct on deposit only status. I feel so much better. I was afraid they were going to look down on me because i am an employee of the bank. On top of all that....I didnt even have to tell them about the payday loan situation! Just that there were unauthorized transactions and that the BBB and Ohio DFI advised me to close the account. Just like Roxy said! :D
