I have abnout 7 payday loans, i'm trapped paying them off, they suck my entire pay every month and dotn leave anything over for rent and car payments. Isnt there some way to consolidate them into one? sureely someone can help. I'm drowing - i got one to help with my car breaking down and then had to take another and another and another. Its terrible, and the worst part is i'm not evening touching the principle amount its all finance fee's. Its surely my fault for doing it in the first place, but i really do need help. the fee's are 30 dollars per every 100 taken out. and those are taken out every two weeks, so i'm paying twice a month.

I have the following loans out:
500 fast cash: 300
Apollo loans: 250
Emerald Marketing: 300
CPS Loans:250
Fox Eterprises:250
USA Payday Loan:250
Zip Cash:250
One Step Cash:250

so i just call and tell them that i was able to take out payday loans while residing in maryland? also does it matter that my license is still for ohio, my car is registered here in maryland and i've been paying maryland taxes for over a year.

well money is really the only way i have of keeping score, i check it against my bank statement as they dont send any letters saying you have paid this and owe this, or track these things on any of there websites, none of those actually have formal websites.

how do you deal with making the rent and car payments while this is getting sorted out, i dont know where the money is going to come from and neither the landlord or my car financer are willing to work with me on this. I'm not sure what to do, i dont want to be evicted and i cant afford to take out any pdl to offset the costs, they only make things worse.

nm, have you done anything with your bank account? Pdls are prohibited in your state. I can go back through and see exactly what you've paid or not paid. However, I will tell you right now that #1. They are prohibited in your state and #2. They may all be unlicensed/illegal companies to begin with. That's why I am asking about your bank account. You need to stop letting these pdls debit your bank account. You need to close the account with the assurance that it will not be forced open due to pending pdl debits. If the bank can not assure you that it will not be forced back open causing the pdls to hit and causing NSF fees, then you need to have a hard debit block put on the account. Open a new account at a new bank. Have your paycheck issued as a papercheck if needed if you can't get it routed to your new account. You need to get this taken care of. Your "real" bills are your priority. Not these illegal loans. Please post and let me know the status of the bank situtation. These guys are illegal. Do not let them continue to hit your account. You need to get your paycheck back under control so that you can pay your bills. You should not have to work with your car people or your house people or go without groceries or gas because of illegal companies taking money out of your account. Please let me know what is going on regarding your bank account.

I'm concerned though - when i went to talk to my bank and i told them the reason i wanted to take that step, they told me that it didnt matter if they were illegal in this state, that i was still obligated because its a binding contract and i still owe and that by not paying i will only make the situation worse.

i agree with Kash....no one said you wouldnt pay what you owe. You just will pay them on your terms when you can afford to. You cant keep pushing your landlord off and risk eviction and/or repossession of your vehicle because these unlicensed PDL's are consuming your paycheck. No! Pay YOUR real bills first!

just tell your bank that you have unauthorized transactions posting to your account and need to block all debits. have them freeze your account or better yet, have them put it on Deposit Only status. You have to stop the PDL's from taking anymore money from you by any means necessary! Have you changed your direct deposit yet?

nm, have you done anything with the bank account? I understand you are concerned. However, you need to close that bank account. Do not tell them it's due to pdls. No. Close the account. And your bank is retarded. No, these are illegal companies. You need to close/block/whatever this account. You need to. You will be debited for the next 5 years as long as these pdls have access to your account. They are illegal. I can not stress that enough. You are leaving your bank account open and waiting to be hit over and over by illegal companies doing illegal transactions in your state. Go to the bank. Talk to the manager. Get this account blocked/closed. If your branch manager is the one who told you this "craziness", go to another branch. Speak with the manager. Tell them unauthorized charges, tell them illegal companies, hell, tell them someone got ahold of your bank account information and now there is fraudulent activity on it. Get it closed/blocked. You are leaving yourself wide open to be hit forever.

I am going in today to have it closed out - i had my work stop direct deposit they will send me a paper check instead next week - i'd like to just close out the account all together i guess. Once i do that will i be able to safely open an account elswhere, my work has a federal credit union that i can get an account through; or will the pdl companies just be able to take money out of that new account too?

once i've closed my account, what do i do? do i notify the pdl companies with a certified letter that the account has been closed and that any further payments will need to be negotiated? is everyone sure this is ok to do? i'm so worried about getting sued or going to jail for fraud?

NM, If you need help let me know. The two companies you still owe, you can add to the letter that you will pay $x.oo via (however you are going to pay) or however you plan on repaying them. You do not care if they say go ahead and file becuase you are going to file anyway. More than likely you will receive ALOT of phonecalls and e-mails. You want to try not to take the phone calls and only communicate in writing. I took mine about two - three weeks to start calling and the calls have recently stopped ( about two months). If and when they call, and they will call at work and home and cell, tell them you are not there or just do not take the call. If for some reason you talk to them, keep notes for documentation. I faxed, e-mailed and sent my letters USPS-certified return receipt...the Crr is important for documentation. If you have any other questions just post and someone will be along to answer them.

nm...on the ones you still owe money to ...offer to pay what it is you owe and ask for contact info : an address to send the money to. On the ones you have overpaid you will ask they mark your account paid in full. Irregardless of what they do you should still file complaints with the BBB and your state attorney's office...they very often can help mediate closure for you. Also the more complaints that are filed the more notice they get that this ipdls are wrong and will eventually help shut them down. Post any other concerns you have...we are all here for you...

nm...being nervous and scared is normal...we all were. We file "complaints" not lawsuits. Many of us have been in this same situation with internet payday loans. I myself had 10 and defaulted in May. I now have 2 left. I am still paying the principle of what I legally owe on these...the other I have gotten pif after filing my complaints and sending my letters. If we are talking about non licensed internet loans...it is a very rare thing that they would take you to court. Usually in the worst case senerio they would turn you over to a collection agency and then there are things you can do to protect yourself there too.

NM, It is ok to ask questions and be worried. This is something you are not familiar with and a bunch of strangers are giving you advice and you are unsure becuase you do not want to end up in court..been there and completely understand...If I remember reading correctly internet pdl's are prohibited in your state. They can not take you to court. They will say they can but how can an illegal/ unlicensed company that should not be lending money to you take you to court? They can not. I had 9 pdl's. I have three that were marked paid in full, I have four that referred me to collections and two that I never heard from again after the letter. As for the collections, again they are illegal/unlicensed companies and I sent the agencies a letter requesting validation of the debt and either they have not responded ( and it has been 6 weeks or more) or could not validate the debt. Most of us have had incidents but for the most part, it has turned out ok and several have managed to get paid in full from oall their podl's. It takes work, a lot of work and can be stressful at times but is well worth the work. If you click on fourms at the top of this page and go to the bottom of the list of fourms, there is a section for success stories...this should help you too. And post anytime...

NM, Send all the panicky messages you want. We know what you are going through...been there ourselves. you can use that letter for all the companies. Include signed copies when you file with the state. My state had it's own form to fill out. I will check yours for you..concentrate on your letters so you can get them out. I will post the info I find for you.

NM, Here is the link for your state regualting agency complaints..Yours appears to be pretty easy and it appears you can alter the letter for this purpose too. File separate complaints on each company.

http://www.dllr.state.md.us/finance/frcomplaints.htm

Also, do not forget to file with the BBB. You can do this at www.bbb.org it is online and is fairly quick.

NM, I think it better to send USPS - certifed retturn receipt because you have the green card with the person's name who signed for it. I did have two that I could not get addys for so I faxed and e-mmailed them. I just printed off the fax sent log and a screen print of my e-mail out box. My e-mail also allows me to print a sheet shere is shows it was sent and the date and time. Who do you need addresses for?

Just so you know, this was the first company to settle with me. They responded within hours after I wrote to them and told them they were overpaid and I wanted my account marked paid in full. Good luck and let me know if you need anything!
