The BBB will take your complaint to the business you are complaining about in an attempt to seek a resolution to the situation. They will bring the response back to you to accept or decline. If you counter they will return to that business a second time with your response. And then back to you. If it does not get resolved they will give the company a negative comment on their site. Too many and the company receives an unsatisfactory.
The AG will vary greatly from state to state.

It is best to file a complaint with the AG in both the state that you live and the state that the PDL is registered in. My state AG will not pursue outside its borders while others will. Also your State Dept of Finances may also be a good route and the FTC especially against some of the more notorious ones where there may already be cases pending! Good Luck!

nikki, go to the bbb site and file your complaints for each pdl on line. Go to the FTC site and file your complaints for each pdl on line. Then go to your state AG site (I just googled my state attorney general and the site came up). Look for consumer protection, click on that, then look for file a complaint, click on that. Some states you can file the AG complaints on line. In other states, like mine, you have to download the forms, fill them out, and mail them in. It's work, but it's worth it.
