best way to consolidate
Date: Tue, 10/30/2007 - 15:26
hello everyone~
i recently wrapped up grad school and ended up with about $11k in credit card debt for my trouble (the estimated expenses that my student loans were calculated from were *very* unrealistic).
i am now equipped with a good job/credit and am looking to consolidate and put this debt is one reasonable place.
i attempted to take bank of america up on an offer for a consolidation loan, but was denied. i was told that despite my relatively good credit, the % of my available credit that i was using branded me as a high risk customer (seems silly to me... i only pursued as much credit as i felt i needed).
this denial prompted me to do some serious research into the best move, and have come to the conclusion that taking out another loan might not be the wisest decision.
can anyone here please advise me on the best way to deal with this situation?
many thanks in advance...
