I bowwrowed $300.00 back in May 2007, I have made several attempts to contact these people to settle the debt. thet never return the call and all i get is a recording. I finally got tired of calling and paying $90.00 by weekly to this company, so I had a stop payment on my account. three days later, I had a person from United States Process Department make threats by stating they are filing criminal charges for fraud or i could send $775.00 through my account to them and the account would be settled, I have no verification of this company, what is going on...help

Hi butler, you would be surprised at the tactics places use to scare you. it takes a lot of guts on their part to go that avenue and there are no debtors prisons any more and haven't been for some time. Like Granny said, lots of us would be in serious trouble if there were :) please don't worry, judging from the information in your post, you will be ok. You did the right thing trying to contact them. The way they communicated to you, or i should say, their lack of communication tells me that they all of a sudden realized that you stopped payment, now they're mad and they want their money. you did try...you did what you could and tried to get verification. that's all you can do. doesn't sound like they have a leg to stand on, try not to worry

Sure is...has anyone suggested to you the free consultation this site offers? you're a member so you're entitled to a free consult just click on the right hand side of your screen. There are many good companies out there...it's just a matter of researching them. If you use the free consultation maybe bring up to the person who contacts you that your considering consolidating your debts and see what they say.
With consolidation, it depends what kinds of debts you have too and how much...lots of things to consider but it can be done :)
