I Never Received a Reply From a Proposal Letter....

I sent a proposal letter to resolve an outstanding debt to Verizon in the middle of October. I enclosed a money order for $110, and basically proposed I pay $200 a month, mailed out on the first of each month until it's paid off.. well today is the first of November - which is when I suggested the payments started, and I still haven't heard back from them.. I know they tend to take awhile to reply, but I'm guessing this could be a ploy just to see if I hold up my end of the bargain anyway.
I'm debating what to do - $200 is a lot of money, and if they sold it off to another CA and then I get a letter from them sometime this month, I won't have anything to give them until the first of December.
AAH!! Anyone have any suggestions?? I'm at a loss here....
