The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain...a foodie book. Love it because he writes how he talks....he is raw.

my self help magazines like cosmo, glamour, redbook, good housekeeping, and readers digest :wink:

Been alternating between Knitting for Dummies & Pregnancy for Dummies. Those 2 are main books right now!

remember one thing, your pregnancy and baby will not go by the book!!!

And magazines....a huge stack of Gourmet, Sunset and AAA Via...the magazine they give you with your AAA membership every quarter.

i just love babies, that's why i had 3. and i am so excited all 3 of my granddaughters will be with me this weekend. they are 4,3 and 2. so you probably will not hear from me much.

me too!! I just finished the Overspent American and I've got Fast Food Nation on the shelf waiting. I love socioeconomic books and of course, foodie.

I read just about anything I can get my hands on. It is easy for me becuase I have access to a library and I get all the new books first.

Thats awesome! I have to buy/borrow mine from friends. Must be nice to have the library at hand! :D

I'm not big on reading, but I do enjoy reading books that are also movies...the books are better almost everytime-just one exception...Legends of the Fall. It was a short story & not too fleshed out in my opinon.

A book or two ago I read "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks (Mel Brooks' son). Its a funny read that's set up as a manual on how to survive a world that has zombies in it. Its tongue in cheek but not too campy.

I go to second hand book stores, Good Will, flea markets and thrift stores to find books. I also save them and turn them in for credit toward different used books.

I need to do that! I get so excited over new released that I cant wait for the paperback, so I buy hardback ($20.00+). So I just need to be patient and wait.

Yard sales are great for books!!! Oh I love good reading!

I use the store Half Price Books alot. But if you buy hardback, save them and take them to a used book store for credit. Many of them will sell new and used books.

IS Half Price Books a local store? I wonder if they have anything like that here...?

I know they have a web site on the internet but I can not remember what it is..try googleing it and see if they have a store finder. It is located in the city so it may be a chain.

Also they have half.com which is an ebay book store! Also, i think it's suebee that sells books on ebay...

Our library is always giving away free books. They are old & worn, but sometimes you find some good reads in the pile-you just need to search.

I just love Jamed patterson. It is always a quick read, just right to kill time comuting to work. I also did love the Harry Potter books, and am sorry that the series ended. I enjoy reading gourmet mags, and always get amused at how simple they make the recipes seem.

Some of the recipes are easy-medium difficulty and some are just downright hard! Like some exotic ingredients I would have to drive to SF-Chinatown to get!

VOlley, you mean to say you do not keep fois gras, truffles or other gormet cooking ingredients on hand..I know I do becuase they are so easy to come by here in KY. :lol:

I love reading Dean Koontz,Stephen King and Mary Higgins Clark. I am a horror and mystery fanatic.

Me too....King, Koonz, ...and then Kellerman, Patterson, Grisham, Clancy. and of course Frogpatch...I collect books and currently have over 250 in bookcases all over the place!! It has always been my dream to have my own library and some of my favorites I read over and over....
