Palisades Collection served court paper

Hi..I was just served a paper that said I have to go to court on Thursday. I had an account with H ousehold and they wrote off my debt as a bad debt and on the credit report it said I owe 0. They say if I do not go to court, I will have to pay the amt due plue costs. I do not drive and they do not answer the phone call we put in to them today. If my credit report said I owe 0, what do I do now. They claim I owe 1777 plus some change. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If u don't show up in court they will win by default! More than likely the original creditor charged off ur acct and sold it to a CA who is suing u!
ALso they will add on court costs and fees if u lose. Make sure u go to court and ask for proof of this debt!

did you not get anything saying you were being sued before this??? you should have been served papers a few months ago stating you were being sued and you needed to send in a response to the court.
