has anyone heard or dealt with ameritrust lending?(not the mortgagge company) a richard walker keeps calling me to tell me i am approved. wondered if it is a scam

I keep getting these emails about refinancing my house and getting money out and blah blah from this company called America's Home Mortgage. A few say something about my house being for auction or something. We just had a modification done with our mortgage company and our new amount we owe is $225,000 and these people seem to know this. How is this possible?

This is one of them:

This is a Notice for Sheila Hawthorne to inform you that bids have been accepted on ... by your mortgage holder.

We reviewed your ... property and completed an evaluation from your request and have been trying to contact over the past couple weeks you in regards to your property.

Here is the other one I keep getting. This person, Angela Harwood has sent me this message for months now.

I wanted to offer you a streamline grant funding up to 100% of your ... home's equity ($225000).

Streamline grant finance allows one of America's Home Mortgages special ist to negotiate with your mortgage company to put a freeze on house payments or negotiate your house payment lower by 20-40% without damaging your credit and get you access to an emergency grant up to $25,000 on your next billing statement with Zero Cost to you the homeowner.

Your ... home meets the 3 qualify steps for grant financing.

Personally I don????????t trust any offers on the Internet and especially in email. There are so some many cons going on right now. How many times have I won the lottery in another country or someone has my name and wants me to help them transfer funds. I don????????t trust anything unless I can talk to the person face to face and there are actual signatures involved.
I delete several messages on my phone weekly that say that I have applied for this or that and it is all a bunch of lies. Or last week when this guy said I won airline tickets for 4 to anyplace I want to go. He claimed that I had filled out a contest in a pizza place or mall, NOT! I don????????t fill those out because I don????????t want these calls??????????????????????????????????????????sorry pet peeve! (he was selling timeshares)Lets just say that assume that it????????s all a scam unless they would send me something in the mail and still then it probably a scam.

I actually do get some things in the mail that say they can help with our situation. I just would like to know what our situation is according to these people. We may be just scraping by but we're doing it somehow. And until someone is putting signs up in our yard saying that our home is being foreclosed on then they need to just back off.

yes i was stupid to fall for it, i had to give 1000.00 down to get loan for 5000.00 they called it a secure loan, well funny that the day i was supposed to recieve funds they called my house and stated"the lenders" have reviewed app and decided they wanted another 1000.00 down, and yet they are making me wait for my refund for a month. shows how gullable i am.

You're not the only one. A few years ago my sister was really down on her luck and needed a loan. She found this company that would guarantee her a loan, but she had to send them $750.00. She didn't have it. At that time I had just received a settlement from a company I used to work for. I felt bad for her and with the promise from her that she would pay me back the $3000 that she owed me I gave her the money. She sent it and waited for her "guaranteed" loan, but it never came. She called the company but they had vanished. It of course was a scam, but at the time with all the paperwork and phone calls and promises my sister believed this "company" to be real. Unfortunately the money was lost with no hope of recovery. She filed a complaint with our AG and a few other places that they told her to get in touch with. It's a shame that there are people out there who take advantage of people like us who are trying to get by and need a little help.

It is amazing what can be made almost public or is public. I started getting letters from lawyers wanting to help me with my tax problem and the IRS before I knew I had a tax problem. Selling information is also big business. If you have a collection agency who knows your financial situation the can put you on a big list with others and sell the list to a debt settlement company or elswhere. Those peole will start sending you "we can help" letters.

They all like to say they can help and prey on us poor folks who are looking for an honest way to get help. But then of course our need becomes our weakness in the eyes of these people and before you know it, we're signing away our houses or cars or first born child. It's all throughout history the things that people will do to get out of trouble and these places know it and they prey on us.

Christina I'm so sorry that happened to you. Something similar happened to my sister a few years ago. Unfortunately she never saw her money again. The only thing I can recommend is contacting your state's Attorney General's office to shed some light on the situation and let you know what you can legally do. Good luck. I hope you can get some help with that.
