Well, the word sucks! Anyhow, hello to all. I got into debt because...I was helping out a friend. Specifically, my BOYfriend. We have been living together for 2 years and he has his own business which is going through financial problems. As a result, I was forced to support us both by paying the rent and many MANY other bills, including thousands of dollars in past due rent. Now I have approx. $20,000 in credit card debt. I have spent countless nights worrying, crying, yelling at him, and praying. I have resolved to get a budget together. I recently paid off my car loan, so I have an extra $300/month to pay towards credit cards. My problem now is learning how to not eat out everyday and not shop for clothes/shoes. I have never been taught the value of a dollar, so I have to learn how.

Hi smle...Ang is right on two counts... please consider consolidation and please contact this site's free consultation. at this point a debt professional will not only help you in giving you some options, but he/she may give you some insight on how to make the most out of your dollar. if you're like me, I want to spend spend spend because it makes me feel better, and the irony is i don't have the money to spend. when i went through a consolidation company, they offered budgeting tips and classes which was nice to the clients. please let us know how you're doing and what avenue you are going to use. welcome too :)
