Hello Community, I have spoken with alot of you over the past couple of months. I am the Sr Financial Coach with DebtCC. I just wanted everyone in this great community to know that I have found a program to help you, your friends and family consolidate your federal student loans. They have to amount to at least $30k and you cannot be in default, if you are bring them current and then you are good, also you cannot still be in school. It is free if you qualify.

One other thing you all need to know, nobody can do Store Front Payday loans, the reason is because they are holding a check, if you dont pay them back, it is considered check fraud. Online payday loans collect their money illegally. Please call me if you have questions.

Sincerely,
Todd Shaw

Is this a federal loan consolidation?? Something just doesnt sound right. For starters, there is no such thing as bringing a default current. Secondly, all federal lenders will consolidate both current and defaulted loans. Thirdly, you can consolidate with most programs will just about any balance...a few have set minimums.

I am very leary of any loan program that is not established with weird rules like this.

My advise to you Luke is to quit waiting and call. You will get way more information from a phone call than from a validation letter...most times validation letters are seen as a stall to CA. With validation you will get a copy of the prom note and maybe a balance. They will follow up with demand for balance in full or a garnishment notice. Waiting is costing you money...interest is accruing daily and you are getting closer and closer to being put on the tax offset list.

Student loans are the exeception to the rule for many things. When it comes to answer letters, the general rule for student loans is to ignore them. Collectors are not permitted to customs tailor letters nor can they negotiate in writing. Your prom note states "balance due in full on demand" when you default...CA's simply cannot put anything in writing that would contradict this statement. They are not trying to be difficult....the clients just will not permit it.

Soaplady:

I went to the Federal Student Aid website you pm'd me and got infomation from my student loan, dates, amount borrowed and amount owed and even they showed the $2,200 loan I got in 1985 with a $0.00 balance as of 4/17/98, and it shows IDAPP in Deerfield IL as one of the people who I paid was paying this through in default with with a Loan status code of PM(presumed paid-in full) in 4-17-98 and In repayment(RP) in 3-24-86. Why would these collectors now who want over $6,000 and where in the $%%^& did they come from. This loan has been paid off over and over agian in the last 23 years and I really had enough of it. Please help.
