Any update on Ellis

Michele- You were the one to tell me that. Summer did not leave me a msg but i see she had been calling me to tell me?!?! Who knows... I guess if she needs me she can call the office.

They were shut down. If read in post "ellis threatened arrest...." I posted in there about how they called me, but my debt isn't with them, it's with Collect Edge.
Well, I called Collect Edge this morning and told the lady the story and she asked when they called me and I told her yesterday and she goes "That's funny, they were shut down earlier this week."
What a bunch of scams!!

Alittle off topic.. but has anyone dealt with Collect Edge? I called this morning and had to hang up when the lady answered, because the other line was ringing and I'm the only one here at work.. so instead of asking her to hold on, I just hung up to answer the other line and figured I would call back. I didn't think it would be the same person. Well, when I called back, she goes, "Are the one that keeps calling and hanging up on us?" (I could tell she had me on speaker phone) And I go, "I only did it once and that was because the other line was ringing and I'm the only one here." and she goes "Oh, because YOU'RE number showed up." I'm like yeah.. thanks for making me feel SOOOO comfortable.. now I have to talk to her about my debts. UGH! It's like.. if you hate your job that bad.. QUIT for god's sake. :twisted:

I wasn't the one to tell you that. I read it on this board somewhere. I was just wondering if any one had heard anything else about it. I left Summer a message earlier this week but I haven't heard back from her yet. Thanks fro the update!

If you try to access Ellis Crosby's website, it now says it is under re-construction, so I doubt they will stay down for long.

Speaking about their official website, it is down for quite a long time. I presume 3 months if not less.

Ellis and Crosby employees called my job around 30 times in under 2 hours yesterday. I'm probably getting fired Monday.

Let me add that I was threatened with arrest and jail,they had several people call at the same time and tie up all our phone lines.They called the operator demanding to know the CEO/corporate structure and finally they demanded to be put thru to my boss and were successful.

Apparently Ellis and company annoyed/threatened/scared enough people on friday that they can't cope with it.I was called into my manager's office around lunchtime today and I was let go.


I got home just in time to get the mail, a letter from Asset Acceptance corp...trying to collect on the same payday loan that Ellis was trying to collect on friday.

A $250 loan that I paid $750 interest on already,they want another $580.

It's going to be a long cold winter here.Ellis and crew have ensured that I won't be able to pay anybody.

Becasue of the harassment that you and others at your place of employment had to endure you may want to consider suing. Since you lost your job over something like this it something you should probably do.

Right now I'm just in shell shock.Life has been real hard here for months.I got in over my head in bills which is why I resorterd to the payday loans in the first place.I've paid thousands in interest already and now am paying the ultimate price. Why don't they just break one of my legs instead of this?

I've tried several times since friday to contact Summer but no call back.I filed a complaint with the FTC.No amount of filing or complaining is going to help me come up with my rent on the 1st though.

Guest, try filing a formal complaint against EC at the Florida AG's website - myfloridalegal.com. It took about a week for me to receive an affidavit from them after I filed. I had left Summer a message over a month ago, but she is very backlogged and may not get right back with you.

As far as what Mikey suggested, I would sue them too. A collection agency is not allowed to discuss your debt with anyone but you, your spouse or attorney. They can only talk to friends, family members and co-workers to obtain current contact information ONLY and then they can only call them once. I am suing Ellis Crosby, if you are in Texas, I can give you the name of my attorney. He doesnt charge anything upfront, he gets paid by the defendant when he wins the lawsuit.

I am so sorry you had to go through what I did with Ellis Crosby. It's a shame they are still getting away with it, even when they are being investigated and sued by the Florida AG.

Tell him I (Tracy) referred you. He will know who I am because he recently filed my lawsuit against Ellis Crosby.
