Okay, I got my wife's internet payday loans under control, but was wondering about the storefront lenders. She no longer has the funds to pay back these lenders, so I plan to visit all four next week to inform of this. Is there a sticky on what steps I should take to get these under control, or what documents I should submit to them? I appreciate all of the help as I would have never got the internet loans under control without the great information that I received from this site. I would appreciate some info on what steps I should take with the storefront lenders.

So these loans are not yet in default?

If the storefronts are members of the CFSA, they are required to offer an extended payment plan. EPPs stop all additional fees from being added on and allow you to make payments on the loan usually every two weeks for 1/4 of the loan until it is paid off.

If this is not a financially viable option, you should still go in and explain the situation to the managers and see if they can be of any assistance. Many will not work with you until you have defaulted on the loan and they have received a NSF from the check.

Good luck!

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear on that.

You want to go in prior to the loan's due date for an EPP.

If you're unable to do whatever EPP they offer, then most will not be able to work out further payment arrangements with you until after they try to run the check and NSFs, or basically until it hits their collections department.

tes: CFSA is Community Financial Services Association. It is an organization dedicated to promoting the 'responsible regulation of the payday advance industry'.

You can tell if they are a member by going to their website (cfsa.net) and just look on their members list.

Check into cash is a member.

tes- The store fronts I used worked with me when I was in trouble. I had been in good standing with them before things started falling apart. When they did, I went in person and explained that I wanted to pay these off, but I ran into a financial mess, and what can be done to fix it. They were understanding-guess I was lucky- and worked out arrangements with them..Then later when i got into a tight spot again, I just called and they held off my payment.

Most store fronts I have worked with,or have know about, tend to follow states laws, and also tend to sue- so try to work something out with them--good luck..karen :D
