Well, cam, these guys are ruthless. They are MTE Financial. Not licensed anywhere. Illegal. Yet they will hound the living crap out of you. Just be sure they can not get your money. Send them a letter revoking everything from debiting your account to any wage assignment (they don't have one, but do it any way). Tell them to only contact you via email or USPS - no telephone calls will be taken. Then file complaints against them with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG.

cam, you sent the letter to them? Okay, if you faxed it, also email it (if you have an email address) and also put it in the mail certified to them. By ruthless, I just mean that they will never give up. They like to continue to try hitting closed accounts. They lay quiet for some time and then spring back up in your face. They will lie to the agencies when you file complaints. Just the "usual" for nice illegal pdls.

Have you paid them anything at all on the loans?

Well, that's where we have controversy. Some people will NOT pay an illegal company. Some people will pay back the principle amount of the loan ONLY. It's entirely up to the individual. I would not tell anyone what to do. Legally, they can not collect on this illegal debt. Morally, people think you should pay back what was deposited in your account, as you did receive the funds, and you did use the funds. However, as I always say, it is up to the individual as to how they want to handle the situation. And no matter what decision is made as to how they handle it, they will not be judged.
