Did you ask them if they have a program? ComEd here in Illinois (as well as Ameren in St. Louis, and Nicor Gas in Northern Illinois) all have programs where people can give extra money with their payment to help those who can't pay their bill. It may be worht a shot. If they have a program like that you would need to see if you qualifiy.

Didn't you include this debt in the consolidation program? If not, I think that you can again take a new consolidation program to settle it with your creditors.

It sounds like her electric is still on she is just having trouble paying the bill. In this case I dont think consolidation would be an option for her.

I know there are churches where you can obtain assistance for utility bills. That may be an option for you ch!

I don't think I would be taking out another payday loan anytime soon and I think that is wrong thing to do at this point and I have learned my lessons about those payday loans that is the last thing that I want to do right now!

DTE (engery company for Metro Detroit) has a program called the Winter program. When you get behind on your payments it'll add up. So what they'll propose is a plan where you pay x amount of dollars a month which is slightl higher than what your old monthly payment was, to catch up.

If you miss any of the payments, the remaining amount becomes due immediately...and you cannot go back on the plan.

The winter plan was also an option with OG&E (Oklahoma City area). You might want to call your engery company and inquire about that.

Can you pay part of the bill now? Doing so would show good faith to pay and they might be more willing to work with you.

I think if I pay 50% of what is owed they might be willing and able to work something out with me but I have to get something out to them.It is just so hard when you are the only making ends meet!Maybe I can try to give them what I can and see if they can try to work something out with me.
